I've recently bought 2 different packs and the E string has broken from each pack while I was just tuning.

I was one of the Beta testers for these strings and a regular user of their EXL170's. These have a slightly brighter tone than the EXL170's and seem to keep their tone much longer than the 170's. I used them on my '05 Jazz and when played hard give a nice growl. Feel is comparable to the 170's and I will be switching over to these once they are in regular production.

Different type of steel. The NYXL are technically louder.
