Description
The D'Addario NYXL0838 Extra Super Light Electric Guitar Strings are engineered to provide guitarists unparalleled performance and tone. The NYXL Nickel Wound Extra Super Light strings are designed with an ultra-flexible 08-38 gauge range ideal for shredding and lead playing. They offer higher break strength, enhanced tuning stability, and accentuated mid-range frequency response.
Breakthrough Technology Provides Superior Durability and Intonation
D'Addario's NYXL strings utilize an innovative and proprietary tin-plating process that provides up to 131% greater tuning stability and string life compared to traditional strings. The high-carbon NYXL cores and plain steel alloy deliver enhanced string-to-string balance and consistency. Combined with reformulated nickel-plated windings, NYXL strings produce a powerful tone with rich overtones, outstanding clarity and punch.
Ergonomic Gauge for Fast, Fluid Playing
The NYXL0838 set features an 08-38 gauge range optimized for fast, fluid lead playing and shredding. The ultra-light top strings provide maximum flexibility and speed, while the heavier bottom strings produce a firm, solid bass tone. This balanced tension results in a slinky, ergonomic feel that facilitates intricate solos, wide bends and complex chording.
Premium Materials and Construction
Like all D'Addario strings, NYXLs are designed and manufactured in New York using the highest quality materials and stringent quality controls. NYXL strings feature high-carbon steel cores and plain steel alloy wrapped with nickel-plated steel. Ignore The Negative Reviews
I've used the NYXL .008 - .038 strings since the were introduced. I've previously tried every string available, and favored Ernie Ball .008's for many years and still use them on a few of my guitars. The NYXL's sound great, hold tube, are extremely easy to bend, and last a long time. I don't understand the negative reviews of these strings. I currently have them on a mix of Les Pauls, SG's, Strats, Teles, an ESP, and a Gretsch. They play consistently well on all makes and models and are my first choice. I've saved enough Player's Circle points for a T-shirt, a string winder, and some other D'Addario merch, so the slight additional cost pays off in the long run.

Do Not Buy!
I've used the standard XL strings for years. By far the best in longevity, strength, and tone. Nothing else I've tried has come close. Those were out of stock and so my Son picked these up for me. I had been eager to try them ever since I had heard of them. Not overly bright when they are new, which I really like. I hate the new string sound, even on the standard XL's. Too bright. Big issue is that these won't stay in tune for nothing. I've done more stretching than I should ever need to, just to make sure that wasn't the issue. Had them on my guitar a little more than a week, and I can't wait to get them off. If you like tuning more than playing, these are for you. Otherwise, save your money and get the old standard XL's.

I've been using these for about 2 years. They stay in tune, seem to last longer than the standard version. Buy a set for every guitar. Thank me later.

For a few dollars more, these strings stay in tune (put a good several stretches when you put them on) and they seem to last longer before they start going flat. I've now used these for a couple of years and I'm very happy with them.

Having smaller hands, these have made it easier to fret chords and single notes. They do stay in tune fairly well for such light strings. Thin sounding on the on the higher B & E. Going to give a try to the next size up in the NYXL's.
I would buy this product again
