They feel a bit different at first, but once you're past that its a great string set, Ive switched from the XL sets to these on all my guitars, you should give them a try!!

I play guitar in a black metal band in Phoenix, AZ. We try to go for a more "professional" sound--not lo-fi and muffled like you hear so commonly. These strings really help bring out note definition in tremolo picking sections of our songs as well as the lead guitar parts. Sonically, Pro Steels aren't much different from Dean Markley Blue Steel Strings, but they last longer and maintain tonality better than Blue Steel strings, which makes them worth the $1 more they cost per pack. I've owned about 4 packs overall, and I've never had any string failures. I play for about 6 hours a week at band practice, and I find that they start losing life in the tone after about 4 months. That's pretty good considering I am really rough on my strings.

heres my honest opinion. These aren't bad strings at all. I had to try them because i have actives and everyone says that about the combination of steel strings and active pups. But They didnt feel as smooth to me actually. i had a hard time trying to slide up and down the neck and playing riffs with lots of sliding between chords and such. THEY ARE NOT BAD. just not my certain taste.
