D'Addario

Description

These phosphor bronze strings are specially gauged to emulate the jangly 12-string tone from a standard six-string acoustic. By tuning the lower four strings up an octave, the EJ38H set creates a chorus effect perfect for layering or double-tracking in recordings. The EJ38H set is an affordable way to expand your acoustic's sonic palette.

Phosphor Bronze Strings Provide a Warm, Balanced Tone

D'Addario's phosphor bronze alloy delivers a superb acoustic tone with rich overtones, clear highs, and balanced bass. Phosphor bronze is renowned for its durability and long life, retaining clarity and tone for extended playing sessions. The EJ38H set is precision wound and has undergone D'Addario's rigorous quality inspections to ensure consistent gauge, tone, and intonation.

Special String Gages Emulates a 12-String

Unlike standard acoustic strings, the EJ38H set features thinner gauges for the lower four strings, increasing from .010 to .014 to .024 to .027. This configuration causes those strings to produce a higher pitch when tuned to the same notes as a standard set. The result is a 12-string-like effect without changing fingerings or requiring alternate tunings to learn. The high E and B strings remain the same gauge as a standard light set to preserve treble clarity.

Add Chime and Depth to Your Recordings

The EJ38H's 12-string emulation makes it ideal for layering or double-tracking in recordings. By tuning two similar sounding acoustics with the EJ38H and a standard set, you can capture an immersive 12-string tone at a fraction of the cost. The EJ38H set is also perfect for Nashville-style layering, where multiple acoustics are recorded with different capo positions and tunings to create a lush bed of shimmering chords.

Premium Features at an Affordable Price

Like all D'Addario strings, the EJ38H set delivers premium performance and tone at an affordable price. Built to strict quality standards in New York, these American-made strings provide professional grade sound, feel, and intonation so you can focus on making music.

Best strings in the world!

I have used these strings ever since I first started playing guitar. In my opinion these are the best strings anyone can ever get especially for that price. It does sound like a-string guitar and makes it sound a little better. It has a nice feel as well. They are really good. I wouldn't think twice about buying these strings again and again. It has a nice long sustain and depending on the type of guitar you have. Overall it's really good. They are very durable. They can and will last more than about 3-4 months without the rust showing through and bothering you a little.

Strings break

Don't know if I am missing something here, but they break before they even get up to pitch. Bought two packs and couldn't even get the 6th string close to where it needed to be before it broke each time.

I'd been planning to try Nashville tuning on one of my guitars and I'm sorry I waited so long to do so. Really cool sounding.
