    the title of the strings is Jazz mediums. They play very mellow and give a naturally 'warmer' sound than the thinner strings. Stevie Ray Vaughn played .13's on #1, so there might be something there. That said, these strings are not made for heavy metal huge sustaining, heavily distorted solos.

    I just bought a pack of these about three weeks ago, and hands down these are the best strings I've ever used. I've tried Dunlops, Ernie Balls, etc., but none of them felt right to me. I tune in the range of C standard (C F Bb Eb G C) to drop B (B F# B E G# C#) and drop A# (A# F Bb Eb G C) and the strings work for ALL of these tunings. The wound 3rd does WONDERS for keeping the 3rd string in tune. If you're looking for a long lasting string with great tone and drop tuning capabilities, these are the strings for you.

    I picked up giutar at age 8. I am now 35. I play modern music with heavy/melodic chords.I have played on EVERY brand of strings. I always find them rusting,going out of tune,or just down right breaking!! I have been using D'Addario for the past 12 years. I have been using D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium for the past 5. I have NEVER struck a better string!! If you want a STRONG/MEATY string that stays CLEAN, You have to try D'Addario EJ22 Nickel Jazz Medium!!!! Thanks D'Addario for all the great years!!
