The D'Addario ECG23 Chrome Extra Light Electric Guitar Strings provide an unparalleled smooth tone and feel. Beloved by jazz and blues artists, these flatwound strings glide effortlessly across the fretboard with no finger noise. The ECG23 Chromes feature an extra light gauge with a 10 plain steel first string and 48 nickel wound sixth string, delivering a warm, mellow tone perfect for any genre.
Stainless Steel Flatwound Construction
The ECG23 Chromes utilize a high carbon steel core wound with stainless steel flattened ribbon wire. Three precise polishing steps are then applied, producing an ultra-smooth surface and tone which sits beautifully in any mix. The flatwound design also allows for quick, noise-free movement along the neck.
Environmentally Friendly Packaging
D'Addario's dedication to sustainability is evident in the ECG23's 100 percent recyclable packaging. The strings come in a cardboard package with no plastic components, reducing waste while still securely housing the product.
Color-Coded Ball Ends
Newly colored ball ends make string identification effortless. The ball ends are coated in brightly colored, corrosion-inhibiting paint, with each string having a designated color. This innovative design allows for quick string selection and changes.
Versatile Tone for Any Genre
The warm, mellow tone of the ECG23 Chromes pairs beautifully with any guitar and complements various genres. Jazz guitarists will appreciate the smooth feel and rounded tone, while blues artists can achieve a full, bassy sound. Rockabilly twang is also easily attainable with these strings. The best set of electric guitar strings I've had...
So I know the title sounds very strong and cliche, but I mean it. For me anyway the best strings. I play guitar for 23 years and until recently I only played the regular round-wound strings. Than I saw a Epi Les Paul strung with standard set of flat-wound strings. While it was an older set, the guitar sounded very clear and articulate and very balanced overall. Once I put the ECG23 set on, I knew it was a great purchase, even thought I never played them. Smooth, clear, balanced tone and added benefit of your fingertips not getting tired through long sessions. I would really recommend them for any style. And with that wound G string being so thin, you can still bend normally (comparably to round-wound 11's). I personally play metal, hard rock, worship and blues and it sounds great in all styles. Do yourself a favor and try them, your fingers will thank me later. Cons: There is only one: can't make the effect of scratching your pick on the thick strings while going up on the neck.

Sadly I would not buy these again
I was looking for a jazzy tone but it was missing.

I have several Gretsch guitars , a couple Epiphones and Ibanez's hollow body guitars and all of them have these strings. These strings make each model have such a warm sound and are easy on the fingers to play for hours. I would buy these every time.

I'm fortunate enough to own a 1994 Epiphone Emperor (solid spruce top) made in the Peerless factory. I went from nickel wound in 12 to 54 to the chrome flat wound in 10 to 42. I got better tone and the guitar was far more comfortable. Money well spent.

These strings have great tones and longevity comparable to the "high end" more expensive brands. A great value.

This is my first set of flatwound strings on my electric guitar, I've used them in basses for years. I am extremely happily with these, they are nice and quick. They don't affect my tone as much as I thought, which I am very happy about. I guess now I will be restringing several other guitars with these strings. Great product!
