Very smooth in both playability and sound. Very refined. Not overly bright. Easy playability compared to some other flat wounds I've tried. I used these on a Schecter Sillito Studio bass guitar with a 35 inch scale and they worked perfect.

  • Super-smooth to the touch

Really the best bass strings I have used. Mellow and really smooth to the touch. I am using the lowest four on a 4-string bass.

  • Great choice for smooth jazzy sound!

Great set of strings, smooth, jazz sound, with a lot less fret and string noise.

I use these strings on my Fender P bass 5 string. The E string had a rough spot and I had to smooth it out with sand paper.

  • Soft and mellow, the ONLY strings for me!

What I have is a 5-string American made Fender Bass, used mostly in a Church Band. Once I used my first set, they became the only strings that I will use! They produce a nice, mellow sound, especially at low volumes, and the flat windings are much better for covering a lot of real estate in multiple keys that I sometimes have to do. The B-string is a bit long, and I had to carefully drill out the wood to 3/16", which is the ONLY reason that I did not give them a 5-star rating! Heavy Metal rockers might not like though.

  • Great Strings for a 50 year old beginner!

My wife and I have met new friends at AZ Music Project who is coaching us for professional performing. Patrick & Bonnie run a top notch business for singers & musicians of all levels. After 40 years of playing the drums I recently purchased an new 5 string Ibanez bass and the original strings were nice sounding but very rough textured. Bonnie at AZ Music Project is also a bass player and I told her about my new purchase and she recommended the D'Addario Chromes Bass Strings stating they make a big difference. I ordered them online through Guitar Center and I must say these strings are awesome and sound great! Thanks Bonnie!

Are these strings safe to be strung through body and if they are, are they long enough to go through body on a 35 scale bass?
