D'Addario Premium Guitar Maintenance Kit

I BOUGHT THIS KIT PER MY GEAR ADVISOR AND, I COULDN'T AGREE WITH BUYING THIS KIT ANY LESS! IT HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KEEP YOUR GUITARS CLEAN AND, PROTECTED AGAINST THE ELEMENTS. YES, I WOULD BUY AGAIN!

I really wanted to love this kit as it was given to me as a Christmas gift by my thoughtful son. Overall, this is a good, beginner's kit. However, there are a few issues... 1) The neck cradle does not offer much stability. If you're not careful, it is easy to knock the neck off of the cradle. 2) The guitar mat is small and thin. 3) The paper fret guards (for polishing the frets) will not stand up to repeated use. 4) The kit did not include an applicator for the anti-friction lubricant. 5) The string cutter is stiff and difficult to use. I ended up purchasing a TPE Yoga mat to use as a guitar mat. This provides tons of non-slip work space in a thick (1/4") material that will not react with guitar finishes,for a very reasonable price. I also bought a better quality, more stable neck cradle and a better fret polishing system with metal fret guards. Again, this is an OK kit. But, there are better options out there - especially for the relatively high price of this kit. I would recommend this kit if you're just starting out doing your own guitar maintenance. If you have some experience in guitar maintenance and setup, you will likely be disappointed in this kit.
