Cordoba C9 Crossover Nylon-String Acoustic Guitar

Description
The C9 Crossover features a fan bracing pattern, which gives the center of the soundboard more surface area to vibrate and respond to the tension of the strings. A more responsive soundboard makes the guitar louder, and provides better tone. Like every guitar in the Luthier Series, the C9 Crossover is built with Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar's body is sealed by the installation of the back. This construction technique allows the entire instrument to vibrate as one unified piece.
Aesthetic touches, like the mother-of-pearl weave rosette inspired by a 1920s Domingo Esteso guitar, add a touch of vintage elegance to this best-seller. Other premium features include an rosewood fingerboard, rosewood bridge, high gloss finish, and Savarez Cristal Corum strings. The C9 Crossover includes Cordoba's lightweight polyfoam case.

I was pleasantly surprised when this guitar arrived. The "hog" back and sides provide deep bases and treble isn't too thin. I still will take it to someone to get the action lowered a bit and clean up some frets that are sharp due to some shrinking. Still very happy and recommend. KO

I was immediately knocked over by the sound, especially the bass and midrange. A friend who is an excellent classical guitarist invited me over so that he could check it out. When I arrived there were two other guitarists of equal ability present. They all gave my Cordoba an enthusiastic thumbs up. My friend said he had recently played a Taylor classical crossover costing $2000, and he thought the Cordoba's sound was much better. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is some string buzz which a luthier found to be due to some frets being higher than the others, so there was some sloppiness in its construction.
