Cordoba C10 Parlor CD Nylon String Acoustic Guitar Natural

Description
Like every guitar in the Luthier series, the C10 Parlor is built with Spanish heel construction, where the top of the guitar is attached to the neck, the sides are added next, and the guitar' body is sealed by the installation of the back. This construction technique allows the entire instrument to vibrate as one unified piece.
Aesthetic touches like the mother-of-pearl weave rosette inspired by a 1920' Domingo Esteso guitar add a touch of vintage elegance to this best-seller. Other premium features include an ebony fingerboard, rosewood bridge, high gloss finish, and Savarez Cristal Corum strings. The C10 Parlor includes Cordoba' lightweight polyfoam case.

Just what I needed

With advancing age, small hands, and short arms, I needed a shorter scale, closer string spacing, and thinner neck to make stretches and maintain tone quality. This guitar greatly exceeded my expectations. Factory sealed and still smelled like glue, but after a week it is already beginning to open up and generate great sound. Volume is also louder than expected. Octave pitch at 12th fret very accurate. Comes with high tension Savarez strings, and the action is a little high above the 9th fret, but I expect to correct that with lower tension strings in a few weeks. Love the lightweight polyfoam case.

I took my first classical guitar lesson 50 years ago. My first classical guitar was a lower end Yamaha. I soon replaced it with a 1967 Martin 0028C (a pawnshop discovery). The Martin was a short scale (630mm) and easy to play. As I progressed in my abilities and my left and right hand dexterity improved, I also added a Tamura C40 Flamenco to my collection. The Tamura had a 644mm scale with a 51mm nut. But it was also easy to play, I was in my 20's with good flexible in my fretting hand and I had been studying and playing for two years. So a larger scale wider neck wasn't an issue with my small hands (spread from thumb to pinky is 7.25"). I later bought a 650mm/52mm scale Burguet 2M. It's is a beautiful solid rosewood with cedar top guitar. But at age 70 it is a challenge at times to play for long periods. I knew I wanted a solid wood instrument, no laminated acoustic guitar for this guy. That was when I started searching on the internet for shorter scale guitars and came across several YouTube reviews of the Cordoba C10 Parlor. I spent a good month reading reviews and decided to give it a try. When it arrived I gave it a real good going over. Beautiful solid rosewood body and cedar top. Nice mahogany neck and ebony fret board. The frets were finished and polished perfectly. They were all the same height with no sharp edges. The workmanship is excellent. The action was spot on, no adjustment needed there. Although it would have been nice to have 18:1 ratio tuners, the 14:1 are do-able. My office/music room is constant 70F and 45% humidity and after three days of settling in I'm happy to say it's sounding sweeter each day. The big plus is that the smaller scale does make playing it much easier then my high end Spanish made Burguet. So if you are someone who has smaller hands who is looking for a well made guitar, in what I consider an affordable price range that is easy to play with a good high-end sound, this guitar just might be the one for you. It was for me.

I have been playing guitar on and off for several years. I started with a classical guitar, went to steel-string, and am now back to a classical, nylon-string guitar. The C10 is just right for me! I'm 5'1" with small hands and the shorter scale neck and 50mm nut width helps a lot. The guitar is beautiful to look at and play. For the price, I'm very pleased!

Fairly even tone across strings (except G String, which is common). Not especially loud, but useable. I think this would be a great guitar if Cordoba would cut the polyurethane finish to about half as thick or less. The guitar I received was gorgeous in looks and stayed in tune fairly well but the tone suffered due to the finish choking some tone out of it. In the end, I decided to return it and try another instrument. If you are looking for a nice parlor guitar, this could be just what you would like, but it wasn't for me. I play fairly high end guitars and have been playing for decades and know tone when I hear it. Additionally, the G string was "thud-y" for lack of another word. It just didn't deliver the goods compared to the other strings. If you are not picky or are mostly a bedroom player I highly recommend this guitar. If you plan to use it for performing, I would look for a nitro cellulose lacquer or French polish finished guitar, but that will cost 3x more minimum.

I purchased this guitar recently used from Guitar center website. The cordoba c-10 cedar topped is a parlor sized classical . I feel that I I got lucky with this one! It has sound quality approaching to my expensive luthier made guitar that cost me over 4 K. The things i like most about this guitar are the ease of playing ( hello 630 scale ! ) and the balance and beautiful rich tone quality that rivals expensive luthier made instruments. Also the finish being Laquer makes the problem of messing up a french polish finish from sweating non- existent. I would recommend trying the Cordoba c-10 parlor, especially if your struggling with 650-660 scale guitars and have smaller or older hands. Playing this guitar has given me nothing but joy and satisfaction. And I always recommend buying from Guitar center as they allow a free trial period to make sure the instrument is good. Returns are accepted with no hassles.
