Cordoba

collapse expand iconDescription

The Cordoba 15TB-E is a handcrafted tenor ukulele that produces full, ringing tones and looks as good as it sounds. Featuring a solid bocote top, back and sides, this small-bodied ukulele resonates with a warm, rich voice. Premium Aquila strings provide a crisp, clear sound. For live performance, the 15TB-E includes a discreet Cordoba pickup with volume control.

Exotic Bocote Construction Sings

The 15TB-E gets its stunning looks and sound from bocote, an exotic hardwood prized for musical instruments. Bocote's tight grain and medium density give the 15TB-E a balanced, resonant tone with full lows, sweet mids and clear highs. Visually striking, bocote has a warm brown color and distinctive grain pattern. A satin finish protects the wood while allowing it to breathe freely.

Premium Strings and Electronics Amplify Your Sound

Aquila New Nyglut strings provide a bright, crisp tone that complements the 15TB-E's resonant bocote body. For live performance, a discreet Cordoba pickup allows you to plug in and be heard. With simple volume control, you can dial in just the right amount of amplification. The pickup captures the 15TB-E's full, natural acoustic tone and projects it to your audience.

Beautiful Details and Comfortable Playability

An abalone rosette and cream binding decorate the 15TB-E with understated elegance. Silver tuners with pearl buttons complete the premium look. A lightweight, comfortably contoured body makes the 15TB-E ideal for beginners and professionals alike. Its 1.5" nut width gives plenty of room for complex chords and melodies.

I just bought this uke today and I really like it. It's beautiful to look at and sounds awesome. I bought a set of classical guitar strings so I could take the bottom four and tune it DGBE, much like a baritone ukulele. Now I can play "normal guitar" chords in a smaller form. Plus it should be easy to travel with.

The sound is great and it's beautiful too. I like that it's a bigger size also.

I am learning how to play and absolutely love this ukulele. I tested many for sound and comfort and this one was among the best that I tried. I was told that they can go out of tune easy but that has not been the case and it was very easy to tune the first time. It took me less that 10 minutes.

I am just learning how to play and it has an amazing tone and is easy to tune and keep tuned which I had heard could be a problem with ukuleles. It looks as beautiful as it sounds.

  • Exceptional value; full and rich voice.

Good volume and tone for a laminate. I prefer its full tonal range to a 'brighter' sound of a solid spruce-top tenor uke from the same manufacturer.

Only wish it would feel more wood-like. The body has a plastic feel. Sounds great though.

Yes, you can tune the Cordoba 15TB-E Bocote Tenor Acoustic-Electric Ukulele to CGDA, similar to a Brazilian-style mandola. Its 17" scale length is comparable to that of a mandola, which typically ranges from 15.5" to 17", making it suitable for CGDA tuning.

I believe that this Ukulele is not solid wood but is made from laminated materials. Do I still have to put a portable humidifier in the case, or get a HumiCase for it? Do I have to worry about the temperature being between 60F to 85 degrees? Do I have to worry about the humidity being lower than 30%. Does the humidity have to be between 45% - 55%?

I don't know if laminates crack or distort if the above weather conditions are not met. Will it get distorted or cracK?

I don't think it's solid either. It doesn't that level of care.

The output jack is located on the bottom of the body. Unfortunately, it is not pictured. There is no volume control. The volume would need to be controlled by the amp or PA the instrument is connected to.

It says that this ukulele is acoustic-electric yet from your pictures I do not see any holes to plug it in? Is the wrong item pictured or am I missing something?

The electronics do not work on the uke I just received (Cordoba 15 TB E). Should there be battery? I don't see one when I look inside, nor do I see a place for one, and there was no battery in the box. I've tried different cords and amps. Nothing.
