  • Great lower efficiency speaker to tame a too-loud 15w amp

I bought this because of its lower efficiency as well as its sound so I could run my amp harder without really increasing the volume. Side by side with a G12H30, this is definitely quieter - much like the difference between 4 & 5 on my amp - but sounds just as good. Mission accomplished.

I use this in 4x12 setup 20wttrs up top 30wttrs on bottom, i mainly use my mesa mark 3 but have been slowly getting used to my new jp2c, the speakers handle both heads well & is a great tone. After a few months the 20wattrs have broken in nicely they have a cool woodyness to them that sounds good with saturated gain, serves me well for ultimate metal tone

I purchased this speaker for use in a kit built Fender Champ (Boothill Amp Kit)12 watt amp. the 20 watt speaker was the mathematical best fit for the amp output. I "broke the speaker in" by running an MP3 through it for about 10 hours. I mostly play an LP style guitar and the humbuckers are very loud with this amp, lots of low tone and I was having problems getting enough highs so I visited GC and got some great advice on a EQ which made ALL the difference. I can dial in almost any tone with this speaker now and I am extremely pleased with it.
