Catalinbread RAH Demo

Catalinbread RAH Blues Jam

Description
The RAH is designed to deliver guitarists an incredible dynamic range that responds to picking hand and/or volume knob. Like a good amplifier the RAH is very uncompressed, which means there is little to "hide behind". This pedal is for players who appreciate the rewards and experience of a wide dynamic response. Plug the RAH into a clean(ish) tube amplifer, leave the pedal on all the time accessing clean tones by rolling back your guitar's volume knob, or turn it on and off as your "gain channel".

Features
- Interactive controls to let you find the perfect sonic combination
- A wide dynamic range with lots of response
- Works great as a gain channel for the foundation of your sound.

I'm still dialing in tones on this pedal but so far it is awesome! I was a little skeptical, initially was looking for the WIIO pedal but this one hits the spot!
Pleasantly Surprised!

I was very skeptical at first. I thought this would be to good to be true and that I would be disappointed but, I wasn't. This pedal has not been turned off since I bought it. It gives my Blackstar HT5R some much needed thump. The pedal is so dynamic. I can get great cleans with just rolling back the volume knob. This pedal is perfect with my Les Paul and decent with the Start. I add a boost in line when using the Start and it really helps the overdrive. I highly recommend this for Page fans or someone looking for an overall rocking overdrive that is dynamic.
Good pedal for early Zeppelin tone or Classic rock

I'm happy with mine as a foundation pedal or amp in the box. Into my clean channel on a Marshall avt 20, the RAH does a good job of getting the tone it's advertised to make, better than my amps od channel for sure. Cranking the master volume up on the pedal is important to get right amount of distortion, like the actual Jimmy Page hiwatt, turning up the volume is when it begins to break up. It's very clear sounding and it does not darken my overall tone, also very quiet... until you hit the strings and it gets pretty rough sounding, I love it, but it also cleans up with the guitar volume knob. Check out the Catalinbread demos on youtube, that's what it does. And that is through a Fender vibrolux, not a marshall, the reviewer above was mistaken.
Never thought they'd make one

I always wanted to have the tone that Page had in the Royal Albert Hall concert, it was its own beast of a tone to my ears. I never thought that there would be a pedal that had that tone in a box, and it's just so awesome! Use it with a clean amp and the magic will come out with that Hi-watt juiciness! It will need some getting used to, but I've grown to love this pedal and many other Catalinbread pedals that I trust them most with getting great tones.

I expected more than I guess I should have regarding this pedal. I should have noticed the demos were using a Marshall. When it comes to Pagey no one has more love for the Zep than me but when I look at Jimmy's history this whole Royal Albert Hall thing never struck me as being all that great compared to everything else. In fact I thought the tone on some of it was downright terrible. Why not a mimic of the Song Remains the Same tones? So this pedal, I confess I am still trying to mess with it. It was never meant to be a stand alone pedal but used in stacking but so far I am just not that happy with it. Not what I was expecting and seems more a roll the guitar volume thing. I had hopes for Catlinbread pedals but after this one I sort of lost my notion to try others. Seeing a walk through of the company sort of made me start looking at other stuff. I do think the DLS III is probably a decent pedal but this one might be a hit or a miss for your rig. Thing about a "demo" an LP in a Marshall sounds more like Pagey than a Hi Watt, so I leave it up to you, this might do the deal for you or it might not.
