Perfect for our daughter
This portable keyboard has been perfect to spark our 7-yr-old's creativity. I would not recommend this for a child to learn to play the piano on this because it can be difficult to adjust to regular size keys later on, but we have an acoustic piano that she has already been learning on, so this was not an issue for us. She has been making up her own melodies to the different pre-recorded songs and rhythms. In the pre-recorded song bank it has an option to have the melody turned on or off. So you can listen to the song with the melody, then hit melody off and hear the song without the melody and try to play the melody yourself, training your ear. The display is great: it has the grand staff and shows the notes that are being played on the staff, as they would appear on sheet music. It also has a little metronome which gives a visual but not an audible click. The possibilities are endless on this little keyboard! One important thing to note is that the ac adapter is not included, and it was out of stock when we ordered the keyboard. So we have been using 6 AA rechargables which have not died yet after 3 days of almost continual play. The board does power off after a while of non-use, which is helpful.

I'm using this keyboard to learn new songs, practice chord progressions, and to make sure I'm singing the right note. It's so handy, I have it next to my computer desk. When I'm working on a new tune and can't seem to hit the right note, I just put it in my lap and away I go.
Fine for kids to learn on.

Got 10 for my music classes, 5th and 6th graders. Then virus hit! They seem just what we needed to play and learn chords.
Good starter keyboard for kids.

This is a great started keyboard. I bought it for my 8 year old daughter to learn on since she just started taking piano and it's better than expected. The LCD display shows where the note shows up on the sheet music, some of the sounds in the sound bank are terrible but there's a few great sounds in there. The keys are super easy to push but are also small so if you have large fingers get something else. My fingers are skinny and I still end up fat fingering multiple keys so definitely for kids or adults with very small hands. Does not include batteries or a power adapter so expect to use 6 AA batteries when you open the box.
Excellent low cost keyboard
