Carl Martin Atlantic V2 Chorus Effects Pedal

Description
First of all, the Atlantic Chorus has a Level control. This allows you to place the Chorus where-ever you need in the mix, or to hit the front of the amp harder and give the Chorus some edge and grit. Secondly Carl has added a Rate control which goes from pure Chorus (0) to Vibrato (10) and every level in between.
These two features along with that famous Carl Martin analog sound, take the Atlantic Chorus to a new plateau where creativity becomes second nature! Check out the two-toned Ocean Blue anodized diecast case, head mounted Input/Output/9v and that awesome Carl Martin DC/DC converter circuitry which allows the pedal to run with +-12V internally (this means better parts and better sound) while still powering the pedal with a standard 9v 200mA external power supply. Bigger sound, bigger tone, all analog, all Carl Martin!

I found the Carl Martin Atlantic Chorus to be more subtle than some but with the addition of the rate knob, there is extra flexibility for adjusting from traditional chorus to full wet vibrato and anywhere in between. This is a nice option for creating A more intense chorusing Effect. As you turn the rate knob clockwise the tone becomes darker as it shifts from chorus to vibrato, which often happens when you adjust the mix of a chorus pedal from dry To fully wet(vibrato). A lot of times the vibrato tends to soften the high end of your tone. I typically keep the rate knob pretty low around say 8 o'clock which allows the high end to remain mostly open and clear sounding, but also slightly intensifies the chorus effect by adding a little extra vibrato into the mix. Then by setting the speed and depth knobs to taste and adjusting the overall volume with the level control, I'm able to get a nice chorus effect which doesn't seem to thin out my tone or boost/cut my volume(thanks to the level knob). I have to say that I do wish there was also an actual mix knob as well as the volume control, allowing you to very precisely adjust the ratio of dry guitar tone To The wet chorus/vibrato effect. This is very helpful for blending chorus with high gain distortion. But I will say that the chorus effect doesn't feel overpowering and doesn't change my overall sound much, especially with Distortion which I find that many chorus pedals don't react so well with. I like that I can use a heavy distorted guitar tone and when I kick on the Atlantic chorus, it feels like the same tone just with a nice chorus blended in. Some chorus pedals when used with distortion seem to really modify the overall tone. This pedal also runs internally at +-12volts, which allows for greater headroom. This really helps where some chorus pedals can get overloaded when placed after distortion and can sound harsh especially in the higher frequencies. I should also add that I mainly run this pedal in the fx loop
