Breedlove
Description
The Breedlove Discovery S Concert acoustic-electric guitar of European spruce and African mahogany is designed with the new player in mind, featuring earth-conscious, richly resonant EcoTonewood technology that invites a variety of play styles. European spruce is known for its light weight and stiffness, providing a sound that’s full in overtones, and ripe with nuance and tone color. Its concert body shape is well-balanced, compact and comfortable to play, generating an articulate tonal range with an ample low end, plus a soft cutaway for easy access to every fret. The African mahogany neck has a soft C-shaped profile, whose slimmer design and satin finish enable comfortable play for any hand size. The bolt-on neck and single-action truss rod provide easy adjustment for both the play action and neck angle.

The Discovery S Concert acoustic-electric guitar also features EcoTonewood back and sides—a process of integrating three layers of sustainably harvested tonewoods to produce an environmentally friendly instrument with vibrant sound. Additional appointments include a narrow nut width, a pinless delta bridge for easy string changing, Fishman Presys I electronics, ovangkol fingerboard and bridge, and chrome closed-gear tuners.

This guitar sounds much more expensive than it is. My volume knob may have a little short but works fine as long as you don't touch it. They ghost burst is slick and the back has a nice black wood grain. It's glossy.

  • Cannot beat the quality for the price !

I purchased 2 of these as Christmas presents. One of them only needed a truss rod adjustment. The other one needed a truss rod adjustment as well as a shim under the bridge saddle. It also had a strange buzz coming from the sound board near the bridge. I found that there is a stud/nut attachment that secures the bridge to the bridge plate ( see pic). I tightened the nut and added a bit of nail polish as a thread lock to keep the nut from backing off in the future. The fix worked and no more buzz. Even with the adjustments the guitars are well worth it.

  • Kinda solid

Arrived with bad feet buzz. Adjusted truss rod and it plays better now, probably was in storage for a long time. Really cool color, matches my full denim jean outfit.

  • Roadworthy and simple!

This guitar holds up very well in a small venue live environment. No-nonsense electronics and a sharp look that gets noticed along with the sound.

It met what I expected. Breedlove builds a fine guitar. I insisted on buy the one on the rack, after sales brought me one from the back, freshly shipped, and... I knew I liked the feel and sound I had already handled. That's what I bought. Went for the one, obviously set up, to my liking.
