With exquisite Santos rosewood back and sides, and a full D-41 style abalone trim...the BR-70 dreadnought is right at home on the stage or in your living room. Faithfully delivers solid pre-war tone with a sharp modern look. Expertly applied white binding adorns the body, neck, and headstock. The abalone and pearl inlay work on the headstock and the back center stripe of intricate wood marquetry are touches of fine art. Aged-tone finish completes the look. The slim mahogany neck and traditional dreadnaught body make it a truly enjoyable guitar to play.

Comments about Blueridge Contemporary Series BR-70 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I've owned approximately 20 acoustics at least, many very high end hand made USA instruments. I love him end timbers such as Adirondack, Cocobolo, etc, so my taste is aimed pretty high. VERY fussy with the sound of my instruments. I LOVE my Blueridge BR-70.
It's hard to believe this is a solid top guitar, with laminate back and sides. It has a fabulous bass, huge volume ( ie can be very loud ) , great dymanic range, ( can play soft to loud ) excellent neck which is fast, straight and reasonably low. Rich warm tone with great definition between strings. Nice sustain, although this is where a solid back and sides would help a bit. I play this 10 times more than my really nice Martin D35. It stays in the case, and the Blueridge is always out ready to be played. It is a most satisfying instrument to play on many levels. I believe the back of mine might be jacaranda ( some call it Brazilian rosewood, but it's not ) I could keep gushing about this guitar all night. Every time I play it always amazes me and inspires me.
Owned a BR160a that I never could warm too. Neck was too narrow and it just never warmed up. The BR 70 spoke to me the moment I played it in the guitar store, even though it had pretty dead strings and the action was too low and buzzing. Even then I could tell had to come home with me. I could sell all my others and be quite happy with this one. Say no more.

Excellent, beautiful looking and sounding guitar
Comments about Blueridge Contemporary Series BR-70 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
I bought this used from Guitar Center (Kentucky?) and it is an amazing sounding and looking guitar - measured the bridge and found nothing out of place (like the previous review). worked a little to get the saddle down lower and put on the d'addario coated 80/20 strings on and it sounds fabulous!! It also came with a Golden Gate, beautiful case that's worth about $120.00 The guitar tech @ Guitar Center added a LR Baggs AnthemTru Mic pickup (a $299.00 pickup) and it really sounds awesome! I play it thru a Fender Mustang 1 amp and I would put this setup against any factory installed pickup guitar - Looks beautiful, sounds beautiful and plays very nice. Try one, u will be happy u did!! For the money, can't beat it!! Hard to believe it's made in China!

I wouldn`t recommend this guitar

Comments about Blueridge Contemporary Series BR-70 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:
The bridge location was about 1/8" off. The guitar, tuned to pitch played flat. The strings were set low but the guitar still played rough. I judged the guitars tone to be well below that of a 2 or $3000 Martin. If it is supposed to compete with guitars in that price range it doesn`t . If the bridge had been located properly I would say it would be worth the asking price, but no more.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
