I just play in my living room for my own enjoyment 😉. I haven't even changed the stings yet. Usually that is the first thing I do when I buy a new guitar. The buying experience was great and I'm sure I will buy another soon. The sales associate was great. I definitely will ask for him again. Thanks 👌

I purchased this guitar to fly with to my first music camp. I am incredibly happy with it. It was good right out of the box…much better than the BR-140 I had previously purchased elsewhere. Must be the Adirondack top. After swapping out the strings to 80-20s and lowering the action a little…this guitar is great…at a third the price of my Martin. Definitely recommended.
A Quality Alternative & A Better Value

The br-160a that I bought was on sale, used, at the GC in Tacoma, WA. It was made in 2012, but still looked brand new. I have played for nearly 50 years and have owned many fine guitars, all the names you know. This guitar is AT LEAST 95-98 percent of a Nazareth, PA-made guitar at half the cost. That makes it a much better value for your hard-earned dollars. It's beautiful, plays easily, and sounds rich and full. Most ordinary folks will never own a top-of-the-line, big-name guitar. This is an excellent alternative for anyone from beginner to pro.

Have had great previous experience with Blueridge guitars. Currently have an amazing 240A, Adirondack spruce top and solid mahogany body and sides. Bought the 160A to add a rosewood body guitar. The guitar is visually stunning but the the set up is terrible. Out of the box the action is much to high, the intonation on the high E and B strings is terrible and the top edges of the fret board are sharp enough to cause discomfort. GC advertises this guitar as including a "shop setup". The local GC staff claims this refers to the factory setup. Either their published specifications are misleading or the locals are misinformed. Either creates an ex-customer.

Another great Blueridge guitar playing far above its price range. Purchased a 240A (Adirondack spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides) 5 years ago and was stunned by the guitars sound, playability, craftsmanship and the price (just under $1K). The guitar's slim neck enhanced my finger style playing enormously. An amazing machine. Decided to add a solid spruce top/solid rosewood body guitar for the the typically warm, smooth sound associated with rosewood. The closest competitors were the Martin D-28 ($2,600), Eastman E20D ($1,400) and the Blueridge 160A (1,200). For warmth and balance of sound: 1. D-28 2. E20D 3. BR-160A Note: both the Br-160A and E10D are shipped with light guage strings giving a decided edge to the Martin shipped with mediums). For playability: 1. BR-160A 2. D-28 3. E20D Fit & Finish: Pick-em. They are all flawless. Price: an easy winner. The BR-240 was shipped with light guage strings. As the guitar aged and opened up I use medium guage strings and the sound has blossomed. I expect similar performance from the Br-160A. Bottom line, all three sound similar and fantastic and are visually stunning instruments. I was most concerned concerned about playability/neck shape and the Blueridge simply fits my hand far better than the others.
