Very Difficult To Beat At This Price

I've used this mic for many years, and while there is always subjectivity when judging these things, I can safely say you're going to be hard pressed to beat the sound of this mic without spending at least twice as much. Maybe not even then. It has a very open top end, but not hyped at all. The airy sound comes from the fact that this mic does not give you a lot of proximity effect (the boominess from getting up close to a mic). If you like that boom, then this isn't for you. However, almost all studio applications seek to get rid of this in mix down, so the lack of prox effect is considered a plus by most people. Also, the Blueberry does suffer a little from off-axis rejection. You need to be in front of it. Being off to the side will noticeable change the sound. You don't want to use it for ensembles or have two or three people on one mic. For use as an all around mic for acoustic guitar, vocals, percussion, whatever...this thing does it exceptionally well. As always, try to do your own listening tests if you can, but make sure you hear this before buying anything.
