Description

The P-115 digital piano carries on the tradition of the best-selling P-Series, with even more user-friendly features and improved sound quality. Available in black or white finishes, the P-115 delivers Yamaha piano touch and tone in a compact design and is ideal for home, home-studio or stage use. The P-115 is an 88-key graded hammer action piano with a complement of common sounds including multiple grand piano voices, electric pianos from an authentic Rhodes to an FM-style piano, clavinet, strings, vibes and more. You can split and layer sounds, and enjoy the output from its high-quality built-in speakers or patch the output into a larger amplification system. Available in black or white finish (choose from our drop-down menu).

Realistic Piano Tones
Yamaha's Pure CF Sound Engine results from years of piano-making history combined with state-of-the-art sampling technology and expertise. Yamaha is one of the industry's leaders in digital piano technology, and you can hear why in the sound of their digital pianos that utilize the Pure CF piano sample. The P-115 includes the sound of Yamaha's renowned CFIIIS 9' concert grand piano and is faithfully reproduced, allowing for incredible dynamics and expressiveness making Pure CF-equipped digital pianos worthy of the Yamaha name.

Authentic To The Touch
Yamaha's GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) weighted action has heavier touch in the low end and lighter touch in the high end, just like the hammers inside an acoustic piano. Great for the aspiring pianist, practicing on the GHS action builds the proper finger technique for when the time comes to perform on an acoustic piano. Plus, the matte finish makes the black keys are less slippery when playing for extended periods of time.

Enhanced Sound System
The tweeter position has been improved in the P-¬115 to be in line with the ears of the performer. Melody lines and treble passages are brighter and more expressive as a result. This new configuration ensures that the instrument sounds sparkle and come alive across the entire tonal range.

Accompaniment with Style
The P-115 has on-board drum rhythms for practice or performance. There's a variety of rhythm patterns to choose, from basic rock to shuffle and swing beats. Use the rhythms to add an element of fun to your practicing, or simply use them as a virtual drummer for your performances.

Free Digital Piano Controller App
Yamaha's free app, "Digital Piano Controller," allows you to control the many functions included in Yamaha digital pianos with your iPhone or iPad, for even easier operation. Voices, rhythms and other settings can be selected while looking at the screen, making it easy to enjoy new functions with ease. You can also save your favorite settings for quick recall at any time. Find new ways to enjoy your P-115, using iPad functions that only a modern digital instrument can provide.

Excellent piano

I researched a lot before I bought, narrowing in on features important for learning and for longevity as I progress. This was the best value I found for an 88-key hammer-weighted keyboard. It feels close enough to an acoustic to me that I won't have a huge transition playing an acoustic some day. The sound is great for a beginner to intermediate level player. It actually sounds even better with the Yamaha headphones-so well-balanced that I first thought the headphones weren't working, that I was hearing the sound from the speakers! The 10 voices aren't a big draw for me, but it's more than some keyboards, and they sound okay. It's great that is has 132 polyphony. It would be easier to have a control panel or screen for making adjustments to the metronome or other functions. Using the keys for adjustments seems primitive. It would help if the instruction manual included more to explain how to use the various functions. But the pros far outweigh the cons for me. I wouldn't trade the 88 keys and hammer action for a keyboard with more bells and whistles. I later bought the matching Yamaha L85 stand, and I'm glad I didn't get an X-stand, because the keyboard is so long. The stand is quite sturdy and gives the piano a nice look in my home.

Outstanding keyboard. Just what I wanted. Great piano sounds without all the stuff I never use. I had one of those "every sound you can imagine" keyboards, but this has much better grand piano sound. That said, the organs, harpsichord and strings are just okay, but I don't use them.

I play the keyboard every day and I love it. I bought a refurb and it came to me in perfect condition. I'm just a beginner and this is my first serious keyboard. The feel of the weighted keys is awesome!

Solid keyboard action, you get a lot for the price. The only negative: quality of the piano samples are a bit underwhelming.
