Yamaha is proud to introduce the FSX800C. This innovative small-body acoustic-electric guitar provides musicians an instrument ideal for live performance and recording. Derived from the acclaimed FS800, the FSX800C adds a cutaway body and Yamaha's System 66 electronics for a robust plugged-in sound. The solid Sitka spruce top paired with nato back and sides produces a clear, balanced tone with rich overtones. Yamaha's newly developed scalloped bracing optimizes resonance and projection.

System 66 Pickup Provides Studio-Quality Sound

The FSX800C features Yamaha's proprietary under-saddle piezo pickup and 3-band EQ preamp. Musicians can shape their tone with control over bass, middle and treble frequencies in addition to a mid-range frequency selector. Powered by AA batteries, the preamp provides a stable power supply for consistent sound quality gig after gig. The tuner ensures accurate intonation for optimal playability and tone.

The FSX800C has a slimmer body depth compared to the FG series, offering increased comfort and playability for musicians of all sizes. The compact body minimizes feedback, ideal for live performance, while retaining full, balanced tone. The cutaway provides access to higher frets for advanced techniques. Best sounding and playable guitar in that price range.

I went with my daughter to Guitar Center to look for an electric acoustic guitar with a budget limitation of $300. I consider myself an average player that has played for over 20 years on and off in bands and now just for fun at home. We tried out 6 different guitar models and brands in that price range and we both arrived to the same conclusion - the Yamaha FSX800c is the winner! My daughter liked the look of a lot of other guitars, Luna, Ibanez, Fender but none of them sounded as rich and balanced and was so easy to play as the Yamaha electric acoustic guitar. I own a very nice PRS guitar that was $500 more expansive but I have to admit that this Yamaha sounds and is exceptional easy to play. The guitar we ended up buying was from the wall and we compared to one out of the box which had even a nicer sunburst look but for some reason the guitar we took from the wall sounded just perfect and stays in tune very well!

Good acoustically.

Lacks a good electronic reproduction so if thats what you need then this is not for you unless you use chorus. It is light and easy to play so again its a good acoustical guitar especially in this price range. I compared it to a Taylor Baby e and Martins small guitar e. This Yamaha has fuller sound.

    Dull sound and dry fretboard. Other than that it's alright, the built in tuner is pretty solid though.

    It's smaller than average but simultaneously fuller and warmer sounding than my larger acoustics. Impeccable build quality. Neck is comfortable without being too chunky. Action is low without buzzing. No hard fret edges. Intonation is great up and down the neck. Stays in tune even after I ham fistedly bang out Zep tunes. I don't think you can do better for under $500.

    The guitar has been a good friend of mine. I like the sound of it. I like the neck, the pick up is excellent. It stays in tune very well. Play well down the lower end than the higher end of the neck all good things I would recommend anyone to buy one of these.

    Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what the blemish is. However, it would only be a minor cosmetic flaw and would not effect the guitars play ability.

    what do you hook the guitar strap onto at the upper portion of the guitar? There is no attachment. Can one be put on, either on the body or in there area near the tuning pegs?

    Typically a string goes between the tuning keys and the nut which ties to the strap. But you can also have a pin attached to the guitar after purchase as well.
