Double-Chain Drive Delivers Power and Control

At the heart of the FP9C is a robust double chain drive that transfers energy smoothly and efficiently from the footboard to the beater. The double chain design prevents slippage and provides a highly responsive feel for controlling bass drum dynamics with precision. Rugged Construction for Lasting Performance

Yamaha constructed the FP9C pedal using durable materials to handle the stresses of regular use. The footboard and baseplate are made of die cast aluminum, and the stabilizing clamp secures the pedal to bass drum hoops. Sealed bearings in the heel and toe pivot points keep the pedal smooth operating for years. Rubber grips on the footboard prevent slipping and the traction pad underneath the pedal anchors it in place on hard floors or carpeting.

    I initially bought the double pedal version of this when my DW 5000 crapped out. While it was getting repaired, the drum expert at GC recommended this one. He had me sold by how easy it is to adjust the tension on it. Loved it. So I bought this single version to go with my blues trio kit (Sonor AQ2 Safari). This pedal is nearly perfect The only slight imperfection is the beater. I don't like them. They're too light, and they're felt so they don't produce enough attack for my liking, and they add a little extra muffling to each strike. The good thing is they come with horse shoe weights you can easily attach to the beater. But the attachment mechanism is spring loaded. As such, it's common for the weights to fly off the beater mid-song.

    I was a loyal Speed King fan until it failed me in two consecutive shows. I was going to spend as much as I could to ensure my bass pedal was always there. This pedal is a dream - i won't ever go back. I was always hesitant to join the chain drive gang, now I won't go back. Thank you Yamaha.

    I honestly us the DW 5000 accelerator pedal and I loved It. Hense the word "Loved" because when I got a chance to try out the new yamaha pedal at my local guitar center, I automatcly hooked on it. It is very smooth and fast and light weight. The settings on it out of the box are Perfect. theres no need for adjusting. It feels like a direct part of you leg. I am talking about the double chain single pedal. But, by this I have doubt that the double pedals and direct drive and not doubtly excel of even more.
