I feel like when I was reading all of these other reviews. It was exactly my situation. I have been a long time Martin Guitar user and was interested in trying something a little brighter and easier to play, like a Taylor. I went to Guitar Center with a Taylor 314 CE in mind. After playing 20 different guitars in the acoustic room, both me and my son kept coming back to this guitar. It is an amazing guitar for the price, and you will not be disappointed. Honestly, the only Guitars I liked more than this one or the Taylor 714 and 814, but those were $3000 to $4000 more expensive!

I have been shopping around for a cutaway acoustic guitar for quite sometime. I currently have a prototype of the Martin DRS2 which I adore and love. But I can't play things due to the full dreadnaught body. So I set out to find the right cutaway acoustic. I was set to buy a Taylor 314. I thought that because it is pricy and a Taylor it was the best option for me. I took my time and played the Taylor. I liked it, then I played a couple of Yamaha acoustics that Guitar Center of Pittsburgh had on hand. I really liked them a lot. I tried an AC3R which was fantastic but then I picked this one up. It spoke to me, it sang to me and it felt like it was meant to be. I love the fact that it is solid wood and not a laminate. It felt more solid than the more expensive Taylor and it just sounded so rich and full. The pickup system doesn't factor in because I do the majority of my playing at home. Off the rack brand new, the neck is straight, the frets are perfect, the strings are ok, but I wouldn't shy away from gigging with it right now if I needed too. I do want to set it up to my specs (a little nut/bridge work) and it will further suit my likes. But out of the box and off the rack. WOW. Don't pass this thing up or look past it. You won't be disappointed. It comes with a very nice firm Gig bag. I thought of getting a hard shell case but this gig bag feels better insulated.

Purchased a used AC3M DLX at my local Guitar Center. Instrument was like new Plays very well and particularly good in the higher register. Rich, full sound, the Mahahpny lets the strings articulate clearly and make it an excellent instrument for finger picking or lead The ARE electronics offer a lot of flexibility and excellent sound. Buying used made this an excellent value and I am looking forward to gigging with this guitar.

Easy playing and amazing sustained tone rings true and clear. Sound nearly identical to the Taylor I was considering at half the price. Yes I would buy it again!

First, let me say I am a Yamaha fan having owned several including both the FSX3 and the FGX3, both of which cost more than this AC3M, but I am definitely more impressed with this guitar. I mean read the reviews; they're all 5 stars, and now I can see why for myself. Amazing quality, sound and feel for the price, and I'm also comparing it to my Taylor 314 and 414's, my Martin D18, my Gibson J45 and my Rainsong; all great guitars, and, yes, better than the AC3M, but I'm not convinced better enough in relation to price. Bottom line, read all the reviews like I did, try one these AC3M's and judge for yourself. I'm betting you'll agree with me and the other 15 reviewers of this great guitar, and probably take one home too.

Always impressed with Yamaha acoustic guitars. Everyone seems to focus on Taylor and Martin; (they are fine guitars indeed) but Yamaha makes just as great of a guitar for less money. I have several Taylor's, but Yamaha is my new 'go to' brand! I've been converted.
