Great Value, Great sound

I shopped and shopped to replace my entry level acoustic. I played in the 2 NYC GC's a variety of guitars. Choosing a guitar is a personal thing; you need to find something that grabs you. There are 2 main makers in the acoustic arena: Martin & Taylor. I tried them and was set on a Taylor 214 CE Deluxe. Loved the feel; liked the sound; did not like the high price. I looked at Seagull, Epiphone, Ovation, Alverez, basically all the stores had on hand. A GC sales pointed me towards the Yammies' A-Series. they felt (to me) like the Taylor. Bottom line: I got the A1M. Solid top/lam. sides/ Mahogany. Sounds FULL; setup was great; looks great. I have to applaud Danny in the Carle Place NY location for giving me extra attention when I picked this up. He changed the strings; treated the fretboard and bridge all in the middle of Christmas rush even though the guitar was only on the floor for about a week. On top of this , I got a $50 Factory rebate. If you want a solid top/back& sides: look at the A3. To me, this guitar is still a better instrument than I am a player. After 3 weeks of playing, I have no issues at all. this is a great value instrument

I would by it again but it was not advertise correct.

Like it but they say solid did back and sides but it is mahogany laminate. They advertised it as solid back and sides and that is one of the reasons. I bought it. It is a solid spruce top. Please fix your specs Guitar Center.

    I bought this guitar and realized it was missing a screw for the preamp and I've talked to Yamaha about getting it replaced but until then it does buzz and rattle a little and I wish that that was something that was taken care of before putting it out on the shelves.

    I sat in GC's acoustic room for over an hour playing over 10 guitars new and used in this price range. The A1M checked all the boxes. Intonation is great. Feel is great. Sound is great. Sometimes in this price range the setup is less than perfect. Not on this one!

    Great guitar that blows more expensive guitars out of the water. I sold a Takamine to get something with more low end and found it in this guitar! I couldn't be more satisfied with a guitar for less than $1000 #sweepstakes

    Decided to put out a few extra $$ after returning the very similar FX335c, which was so nice to play, but had low volume output. This had a little better volume in playing "offline", but I ultimately returned it. Maybe I'm just spoiled by having played a dreadnought for 40yrs+. I have to wonder if the cutaway detracts from the overall sound. I also didn't find it quite as nice & easy to play as the FX335c; maybe it just needed an initial tech setup? On the plus side, the built-in tuner seemed to work faster than the one on the FX335c. I ultimately went back to a standard full-size dreadnought with the FG830.

    I wanted a new acoustic with a cutaway body and on-board tuning. After trying a few different models by other makers I picked this one up and was amazed by the tone and the feel of the neck. After playing it for a few minutes it was a simple decision to take it home with me. Very rich tone and resonance, fantastic playability and wonderful craftsmanship in this instrument. I have since played multiple guitars that are much more expensive than mine and realized that I got a far better instrument at a much lower price! Yeah, it's that nice...

    I bought a used vintage A1M a couple of days ago at my local GC. Great condition on the used and I am very happy with the purchase. I also have a pricey Martin acoustic model #GPCPA4SHADE that has a much thicker sound and is a little harder to play .The Yamaha is brighter sounding than the Martin and fun to play. I bought the yamaha to have something cheaper and I must say its really been a great addition. I am going to buy a Fishman amp for it soon and compare both and may end up selling the Martin.
