Great sounding amp. If you're looking for a "D" style amp at an affordable price this is it. I own 4 "D" clones, 3 which are very, very expensive , and now the VHT. Honestly, the other amps are great but do not show any major difference to justify paying 5 to 6 times more than VHT.
Amazing amp!

Sounds just like the Dumble clips on YouTube. Haven't touched my Marshall 2555X since buying this.

If you like Dumble style amps this is a great choice at an excellent price. It is practically a #183 clone. Very usable sounds. Can't get a bad sound out of this amp!
This amp is amazing!

A Steal not just because of the price either.

This is an incredible amp!!! I have never played a more versatile Head. Beautiful cleans and powerful gain tones. All the other reviews will give you more detail on the tones. I find that so subjective its hard to tell others what I like without you being me. The only thing to knock is there are some things you NEED to know about the amp that are not clearly laid out. Even the GC salesperson wasn't aware of it. When I first got the amp I compared it to the EVH 5150. I almost returned the VHT because I couldn't get enough headroom for clean tones. I called them and it was explained to me that if you want plenty of headroom you need to dime the master. Have the OD toggle in the back above the footswitch down. The Mid toggle is down and the other toggle in the front is on Jazz. After that I got ALL of the cleans I wanted. I then used a Tube screamer and didn't need to change things up for some nice tasting gain tones when I wanted them. The OD toggle in the back, The mid toggle in front, Jazz/Rock, drive dial, all to do with the pre amp. When wanting gain and distortion playing with them you can create all types of different tones. Get to know the amp and you will LOVE it. Oh, I returned the EVH in favor of this.
Huh! Very nice and then some!

Okay, folks, here we are: A relatively inexpensive clone of the Dumble ODS, replete with all the bells, whistles, etc, but minus the Ferrari pricetag. Like a lot of pickers, been wondering what the hoo-ha was all about. Well? My take? A Fender blackface with lots of cool goodies, and I've yet to explore them all. Takes a time to dial in your "pet" amp sound, but this amp will do it. Power? Plenty! And the master works well, all the way down to practice and all the way up to the neighbors griping. It does take some finagling with the dials to get to a decent tone. Marshall? Mesa? Fender? About all those can be pulled off with this. Clean setting? A country picker's delight. A little dirt? 1950's. And? Not nearly as noisy as some! Pull the cable and there's almost zero hiss. So, overall? A very useful workhorse of an amp for as many styles as you can toss at it. Have fun! (Word of note here for a mention - my cab uses 2 12" Eminence Governors, so nailing that old "plexy" tone ain't that hard!)

My local store doesn't carry, other stores nearby do not carry in stock. Is there a way to demo this amp before purchasing?
The only way you can is if you purchase the amp, have it shipped to the store and you demo it there. If you don't like it, you can return it on the spot.submitted4 years ago

Hi, seems like you are the only dealer having this amp (VHT D-50H) in stock. The point is, I am living in Germany and therefore would like to ask if it is possible for you to deliver to Germany? Thx Michael
Unfortunately, we cannot ship internationally. Due to local regulations we are prohibited from shipping to Germany
