Good purchase

When the guitar first arrived I took it out of the package and noticed two layers of plastic. The first one was easy to peel off however the second one took about 15 minutes to do so. The guitar overall has a great luck if you get the antique burst finish. Perfectly polished. However I noticed some crooked screws holding the pick guard to the guitar body. When I first started playing the guitar I noticed some fret buzzing. It was annoying at first but I soon got used to it. The guitar has a great deep brassier sound then my old Squier Strat affinity series guitar. I would highly recommend this guitar for novice to intermediate guitar players looking to find a good quality guitar for a good price. Being an intermediate level player, this was an excellent purchase. Also, I spent five dollars extra to get the guitar in 3 to 5 business days. This was an excellent decision because the guitar came and no later than 2 1/2 to 3 days by UPS. As my final verdict I'm giving this guitar a 3.8 to a 4.2 out of five stars.

Could be better.

Before this standard strat I bought a Squire modified 70s strat made in Indonesia for around the same price as this standard strat and it was much better; better finish, better duncan design pickups..both made in Indonesia. The standard strat was bit disappointing. I had to file the neck to get rid of razor sharp frets. The pickups are a matter of taste but the neck pickup is just way too weak and quacky for my taste. It did not handle gain/overdrive well...again it depends on taste. Position 2 is alright for clean tone. I can live with the middle and neck pickups. The hardware seems to be decent, the candy apple red is beautiful. I would recommend spending a bit more and getting a 70s modified Squire strat if you are on a budget. Or save up a bit more and go for a Fender player.

Silky smooth neck. Pups sound funky- definitely not Fender's best. But, the neck is smoo-ooth. And it looks classy.

What os the guitar ROUTED for, i know it's an sss configuration but i'm looking to mod one. So what is it routed for HSS HSH or something else I want to know. Thanks

    Open Reply -
Typically it's routed out to accommodate MOST styles of pickups. The only time you'll run into issues typically is when you go from passive to active.
