Squier's Classic Vibe '70s Jazz Bass guitar brings iconic '70s era design to the modern age. This sleek bass combines a lightweight poplar body with a maple neck and fingerboard for articulate tone and smooth playability. Fender-Designed Alnico Single-Coil Pickups

The two Fender-designed alnico single-coil pickups provide dynamic, articulate tone with balanced output. Roll back the neck pickup for a warm, round sound or blend in the bridge pickup for increased attack and high-end cut. With both pickups engaged, you'll get the full-spectrum sound that shaped '70s popular music.

Maple Neck and Fingerboard

The maple neck and fingerboard offer a smooth playing feel and bright, crisp tone. The C-shaped neck profile feels comfortably familiar for most players. A 9.5" fingerboard radius and narrow-tall frets make navigating the 34" scale length effortless. Black block position inlays provide an understated yet stylish touch.

Vintage-Style Hardware

Vintage-style tuners, a 4-saddle bridge, 3-ply pickguard and nickel-plated hardware complete the retro aesthetic. The tuners smoothly and accurately hold tune through dynamic playing. The bridge saddles securely anchor each string for rock-solid intonation.

Lightweight Poplar Body

It's a keeper

I really like the bass I found, I played a bunch of these and they were all different. I got this one brand new in the box after playing a floor model. But after opening and inspecting, the setup was not really that good, so I did the setup, polished a few minor flaws and it plays excellent. I noticed the sound and the tone variation when blending the volumes and the tone pot really makes a difference, I can say that this was not the case of all of them I played. Mine has a three piece body, I've seen 1 and 2 piece bodies as well in this same model. I could not find another three piece, that's why I fixed the problems and kept it, because it sounds so good, there is something definitely different about this one. The tone, volume and dynamics between the strings is very balanced and it speaks bass if you know what I mean. I would be hard pressed to find another bass like this one. I've played this bass with a couple of bands and everyone likes the tone and I can say this bass has character and it is very musical and fun to play. So try it out and see and hear how you like it, I recommend this bass for beginners and professionals.

every one looks and feels different, fretwork iffy

This instrument is exponentially better than an Affinity series. The Classic Vibe feels like a higher quality instrument with better electronics and pots than the Player series, so definitely a good value, but the fretwork is inconsistent as are the finishes and neck carves. This is good for a beginner or someone on a budget but if you are serious and in it for the long haul, I think worth it to go with the American made. I saw 3 of these at Guitar Center and they all looked and felt very different. 1, 2, and 3 piece bodies, varying weights, and the color of the body and neck varies quite a bit. It appears some look good some don't, some feel good some don't. The neck carve varies as well. The tone is good and the pots are good. I didn't open it up, but it doesn't sound like it has any shielding. Again, go with an a American model if you are serious.

    If you are looking for a working Jazz bass, you'll not find a better one at this price point. I pulled the trigger on this because I was so impressed with the Classic Vibe Precision. I'm out playing twice a week, and this bass checks all the boxes. The side dots are visible in extremely low light, and the bass feels comfortable on your shoulder, whether it is for five minutes or fifty. It is one nasty-sounding bass, and it loves getting spanked.

    I love the sound, versatility and feel while playing. This is an FSR- Fender (Squier) Special Run - It also looks really good, and all the knob configurations give me a really good tone all the way through. I like the black block fingerboard inlay over the natural neck and black pickguard on the body. And the body wood has an interesting figure to it, like a slight burl look. It is hard to beat all this at the price.

    Versatile instrument that gives you that jazz bass sound. Only problem is the instrument is really heavy. I can only play it for long stretches sitting down. I play it with flatwounds....awesome.
