don't get discouraged with the brand
a $100 guitar is no comparison for something that's worth $1000+. but for the price, this is really a great deal. some people might be thinking twice about spending on a cheap guitar that won't perform well, that's just wrong. the stock pickups are really good. the one i got didn't have that noticeable 60 cycle hum. pinch harmonics are well defined. the feel of this guitar is really like a telecaster (after all, this has been approved by fender quality control). if you're just starting out or you just want to have fun upgrading a guitar (which i did), get a squier. this guitar is pretty solid.

good inexpensive 1st electric guitar
I am primarily an acoustic player but I wanted to try an inexpensive electric just for fun, etc. It's an ok guitar. The frets are finished well enough that they don't interfere or feel sharp on the ends. As set up out of the box there was no fret buzzing and intonation seemed fine. The tuners seem ok and stay in tune pretty well. The only problem I've had with the guitar is the cheesy plastic plate that the jack is attached to. Any strain on the cable will break the plate. I went to a hardware store and bought a piece of brass sheet metal and cut out a small rectangle and drilled the proper holes, problem fixed.

I was afraid to buy in the beginning but after picking it up and the feel was very comfortable all the way around , I didn't like stock pick ups called Dimarzio got some nice pick ups and now I actually play this more than my JEM or one of my other favorites. The alder wood speaks to you especially with JUMBO fret board and when I upgraded it was like play a custom parts of me wishes Fender would use a neck like this in the Player series because there are a few there I wouldn't mind having but I have a Fernandez Blues neck on a guitar since Ibanez wont help replace cracked of broken and it plays better than a Fender but this Maple Neck feels great and my guitar tech is changing a guitar or two of his own after setting this up with new pickups for me because he loves the sound almost more than I do !!!
I would buy it again

Required a full set up and strings replaced. Could even set the tune when I got it. After I had it set, OH MY GOSH! Great little guitar. Was expecting a little better set up when it got here. Holds tune real well , bridge pickup rocks!

I own 5 Classic Vibes but I've owned a couple of Bullet Telecasters in the past. I would definitely rate the Affinity Telecaster right up there with my Classic Vibes. It's got a good weight to it, frets are smooth, stock strings are in good shape, action is good, and intonation is spot on. I don't have to do anything except play and enjoy my new addition.

Love the guitar, but I wish Guitar Center would change the photo in this ad. The guitar is white white, not the off white in the ad, which looks more like a vintage cream color. I think it's a remarkable guitar for the price, but I did wish it had that 50's look. A bit misleading, whether intentional or not.
Great practice guitar..

Put a new set of Slinky 9's on it.. Original strings were flakey and hard to tune.

Can you screw in a whammy bar? I don't see a hole from the pictures. Thanks
