Exploring The Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Models | Fender
Description
Squier Affinity Series Stratocaster Main Features
- Poplar body
- Maple neck with slim C profile, maple fretboard
- Three Affinity Series single-coil pickups, 5-way switch
- 2-point tremolo, sealed split-shaft tuners
Classic Body Style
This Squier has the same double-cutaway body style that Fender made famous in the ’50s. It's made of poplar, a balanced tonewood that allows the pickups to shine.Easy-to-Play Neck
The Affinity Stratocaster has a maple neck with thin C profile. It's a comfortable fit for the fingers, making it easier to form chords and solo with single notes. The maple fretboard adds extra snap to eat note. Check out that headstock logo, too—the chunky block text is straight from the ’70s.Classic Single-Coil Pickups
The Squier Strat is loaded with three single-coil pickups, a classic Stratocaster configuration. Each has a clear, cutting tone that stands out. Ride the bridge pickup for a twangier sound, or employ the neck single coil for fluid and smooth rhythms and leads. The middle pickup fattens the sound when used in combination with either.Updated, Fail-Safe Hardware
The Strat has updated hardware that makes it easier for beginners to play. The tremolo unit mounts to the body in two points, rather than the traditional six. This creates less friction for more tuning stability. Thanks to their split-shaft design, it's a cinch to change strings—just thread each through the body of the guitar, insert the loose end into the tuners and turn to tighten. Unlike other guitars, this design eliminates sharp string ends that can poke fingers and damage gig bags.A case for the Squier Affinity Stratocaster is available separately.

I genuinely love this guitar
It looks fantastic. It is an absolute joy to play. I honestly cannot tell much of a sound difference between my Affinity strat and my Fender Mexican strat and I love my Fender. The Affinity is easily in my top 2 of favorite guitars I own and is also the least expensive. It did have a small amount of fret sprout but nothing that couldn't be easily taken care of personally or even ignored. Stays in tune, sounds great even with high-gain distortion, and feels just as solid as guitars I own that are 3 or 4 or 10 times the price. Would easily buy another Affinity stratocaster without hesitation! Don't sleep on them!

Nice for the price
Bought this for a practice guitar. The sound is good and it feels good except for the frets. The frets are level but the ends were not finished smooth. I can feel the sharp bures up and down the neck on all frets. This would be a great guitar if it wasn't for that.

Recently purchased a Squier Affinity for my son and me. Impressive guitar for a great price. Very playable, good fret action, smooth neck, easy to tune. Overall, it sounds good and feels good. Highly recommend for beginners and intermediate guitarists. My son loves it! Sounds great coming through a small Boss amp. People have complained about sharp-edged frets, but the guitar I purchased is fine. The color is also awesome--Olympic white (although cream or vanilla is more accurate).
I would buy this again

For a Fender stratocaster I was disappointed. The B string had busses both upper and lower neck. Sound from the pickups all sounded tinny.

what are the sizes of the inlays on the fretboard?
On a standard Fender Stratocaster, the fretboard inlays are typically "block" style, measuring around 3mm thick and 3mm wide with a slightly rounded edge, depending on the specific model and manufacturer; they are considered a relatively large inlay compared to the smaller dot inlays seen on some guitars.submitteda year ago
