The controller is great when working properly. Setup with serato was a breeze, mine included a 3-month subscription to BPM Supreme as well as seratoDJ Pro, which are both great values and get you started off great as a beginner. The left jog wheel on my controller becomes unresponsive at random times. It will not react to touch or scratching, and it interchanges with the Play button sometimes becoming unresponsive as well. It almost makes the controller unplayable, because it happens randomly, and as a beginner, I learned to mix with my left hand, and it's unfortunate that I cannot use it.

I use this controller for about a year now and I have alot of good things to say about it. 1. When I opened it from the box it was very lightweight and I got the mixpack package where I get serato pro for free and BPM supreme free for 3 months. A great deal 2. The jogwheels are amazing. They have a weight on them which is good for those who like to scratch. 3. I found it to be a versatile gear for on the go type situation. I used this in a club one time and DJ's were looking at me very weird but when I performed on it, they were shocked. The cons that I have for this controller was that the pads are stiff which makes it kind of hard to drum on these and the sequencer feature is complicated to use but I looked on the manual which made sense to know how to use it but not the easiest thing to use But this controller is great.

Best controller at this price point hands down. Packed full of features especially if you have Serato DJ pro. Does need a firmware update to work properly and it is not a simple process. Once the firmware is updated, this controller is an amazing piece of kit.

Okay, I'm giving it 3 starts because its very difficult to set up the drivers to use this. On top of that, my unit didn't arrive with a Serato DJ Pro Upgrade Card with the activation key as promised. Nothing apparently can be done about that. So, I had to spend another $130 on Pro just to be able to use this thing. Aside from this, the unit itself is absolutely flawless. Functions very, very well. Extremely professional lay out & sound. No lagging whatsoever. Its pretty durable too. One of the best investments I've made up to date. Those other 2 things are just something to be aware of....

The size of this unit makes it easy to store for the occassional DJ and easy to add to a set up for DJs that have the room for a permanent set up. If you are just transitioning from Vinyl to virtual music or if you want a reliable piece of back up gear..this is the place to look. PLUS, with the new SERATO studio interface that was just released, this unit is going to be great to make some of your own beats. The inclusion of the 808 & 909 sounds...your imagination will be your limit here.

The DJ 202 by Roland is a very nice DJ Controller for ANYONE, this controller blows most of the Controllers in its class out of the water. Good Job Roland!
