A Solid Start Starts With a Solid Top

Unlike many other guitars in its class, the T311CE features a solid top, spruce in this case, paired with striped mahogany back and sides. The Perfect Neck Shape

To give all players the best experience possible, the T311CE was crafted with a comfortable, satin-finished, slim-C neck design. This is ideal for younger players and those with smaller hands trying to familiarize themselves with sliding up and down the neck as they hone their skills. Experienced players will enjoy its familiar feel. Its rosewood fingerboard adds even more warmth and sweetness.

Easy-to-Use Electronics

Making the T311CE an even more versatile instrument, it comes with a built-in Fishman Presys preamp and Fishman Sonicore pickup. This gives you a simple 3-band EQ to better shape your sound when plugged in, as well as a phase filter control, volume control and a tuner. Its specially designed housing makes battery swaps stress-free. A simple push unlocks the preamp, which opens it up, giving you access to the battery underneath. With no clips to deal with, you can easily swap batteries and get right back to playing.

Added Touches for a Better Guitar

Mitchell equipped the T311CE dreadnought with high-ratio sealed gear tuners. This ensures quick, stable tuning for great performance every time you pick it up. Other appointments that separate it from most acoustic guitars in its class include a single-cutaway for more fret access, beautiful rosewood headplate overlay, abalone and multi-ring rosette, TUSQ nut and saddle, black pickguard and a natural gloss top finish.

If you're on a fence, don't be!

I was in dire need of a new acoustic guitar so I decided I would go the acoustic-electric route for added versatility. I'm not the type of shopper that will pick up just anything, so after extensive research I found myself torn between several guitars within the sub-$400 price range. I wasn't expecting anything "fancy", but anything was better than what I had and I'm a rather no frills type of guy so the only things I needed were a satin neck (I ABHORE GLOSS!) and I wanted a mahogany body (check and check). I initially wanted a similarly priced yamaha and ibanez model just because they have better brand recognition. This particular model kept catching my eye and surfacing in my hunt, but I couldn't find one at my local GC or any other ones within reasonable distance so after playing both the ibanez and yamaha in store (which are both great guitars, btw) I brought home an artwood Ibanez model which was solid mahagony with a beautiful reddish brown, open-pore finish. A few days later the Mitchell was on sale and I decided to buy it too online, even though I didn't actually play it. While I was waiting for the Mitchell to come in the mail, I was really enjoying the Ibanez. It played really nice, had all the features I was looking for and was absolutely gorgeous, albeit a little light (which isn't necessarily a con). I really thought this guitar would be the one I would end up "choosing" out of the two. Until the Mitchell came. 1st impressions of the Mitchell were positive, though I wasn't as drawn to the finish and color (both are fantastic, just the artwood was so unique looking). After a few days though I found myself playing the Mitchell more. A few weeks went by and I was barely touching the Ibanez because the Mitchell was not only more fun to play, but felt better in my hands too. It has a really bright sound, but also warm and full due to the solid mahogany back and sides. To make a long story short, this guitar is a fantastic value and I returned the Ibanez.

Not like they used to be. Play it before you buy it.

I bought a number of MD100's 12/13 years back as they played and sounded great out of the box. Still have one that remains my go to. Tried some new Mitchells at GC. Off the shelf middle strings buzzed at intersection of neck and body. Tried another out of the box. Less strings played than buzzed. Really disappointing. Moved on. Tried a number of others including one I would have never thought about (Thanks Tony for the recommendation). For me the Alvarez won above all of them including the Yamaha. They claim the Alvarez brand goes through the guitar and sets them up. All I can say is it reminded me of an ol Martin and played perfect out of the box. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

    I bought three of this same guitar and every it was damaged/defective in some way. I'm not saying this guitar is bad, its just a gamble if you buy it. It could work for a very beginner guitarist or as wall art. If you are looking for a quality guitar, you'll need to spend a little more money. The guitar I got instead of this one, which I have very satisfied with, was the Yamaha FX335C.

    Like others who commented here, my Mitchell had some fret buzz. I bought it on clearance and, yes, I did notice the fret buzz. After adjusting the truss rod a bit, voila! No more fret buzz. This guitar plays nice. The neck is comfortable. The sound is nice. It's a great-looking guitar. I'm very satisfied.

    I own several acoustic guitars and and about 20 electrics...I've been playing for over 50 years professionally and have owned some exotic acoustics...I wasn't looking to buy another guitar but just out of curiosity I went into GC acoustics room and came out with this guitar..love it.

    I love Mitchell acoustic guitars, and especially the T311. When on sale (which is often) they represent one of the best values out there. On my last trip to GC I tried a dozen guitars under $500 and found the T311 the best. The solid top resonates beautifully and the sound is warm and rich. Now the down side. Quality control is not great. Many of the Mitchell's on display had multiple dead spots up and down the neck. The bottom line is try before you buy and carefully check out the upper frets for problems.

    An open box unit is in great condition with very minor cosmetic flaws and not the original boxing. It will play perfectly.
