Glad I found this guitar

I had been looking for a smaller body guitar that was easier to play and, hold while performing onstage. I have been playing dreadnaught size guitars and, having some issues with control. I also perform with a solid body electric, no issues there. Thinner body, easier to hold and play, so why not an acoustic that I can feel the same way about. I had been looking at a Yahama apx 600, had everything I wanted. So I went to GC in Wichita. Skyler an employee that works there and a good friend helped me to make the final decision for this Mitchell guitar. He was very helpful in every way as usual. I looked at all the thinner body acoustics and, just kept coming back to the Mitchell. Played it acousticly first. Always see how any guitar sounds unplugged, if that sounds good it's a good bet it will sound as good or better into an amp. The Mitchell won without a doubt. It didn't spot it at first still looking at the Yahama but, the minute I saw the Mitchell which honestly I did not find looking on Google for a thinline auditorium guitar. The look, feel and, playing of this guitar was perfect! I AB'd every thinline guitar from Yahama to a Taylor and, the Mitchell blew them all away! The picture here on GC's site does not begin to show how beautiful this guitar is. It has all the good stuff, Fishman electronics, D'addario strings, graphtech bridge and nut, solid build and just a pleasure to hold and play! I took it home. If you have not looked at a Mitchell guitar it's time you do. Don't let the big names sway your ideas about a Great guitar, quality can be had for a decent price! I have been a musician for over 50yrs and have played and owned many guitars and, this one ranks very high as one of the best I've come across. Highly recommend this instrument. I have played it through my Bose L1 pro8 and my Fishman Loudbox Artist and, it sounds Excellent!!! Thanks Skyler and, Donnie at GC in Wichita and, to Mitchell for building a Great guitar!!

I would definitely recommend this guitar to others.

I was actually looking for a Breedlove when I came in that day, but the cheaper Breedlove didn't play nearly as good as this Mitchell. I had to lower the action on the Mitchell but since I did that, it plays very well. It's not a Martin or Gibson standard, but for the money I am tickled pink. The only thing I don't like about it is the tone controls on the fishman pickup are hard to see where you have the knob turned to. Mitchell could definitely improve that or I guess actually fishman could. But I am a happy camper & I don't regret buying this guitar.

I would normally use it for leading worship. However it was completely misrepresented in the photo & looks nothing like the photo. It was very disappointing. All else about the guitar is great, but I bought it for the LOOK, that it doesn't have. I would love an exchange. And a response

  • I would definitely buy this guitar again!

I just happened to be in a Guitar Center store having one of my ukuleles restrung when I found this guitar. I was just looking around and picked up a few guitars to play. When I picked up this Mitchell I was blown away by the beautiful sound! I had to buy it. It's sound rivals my dreadnaught guitars and it's the one I go to first when I play at home. I don't perform much, just play for my own enjoyment. I am so glad I found this guitar!

  • I would not hesitate to buy this guitar again at this price.

I have this guitar tuned in an open C tunning and use it to fingerpick various forms of music. This instrument produces a very balance and rich full sound. An onboard tuner is always a plus and this guitar does not disappoint whether plugged in or not. Do I need to mention how awesome the wood grain on this guitar is?

I returned this after about 2 hours of playing. I am not sure I will ever purchase on line again. The sound wasn't nearly as full as was implied in the reviews.
