Open Box Martin X Series Custom 000X1AE Rosewood HPL Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Level 2 Natural 190839377241

The Martin guitar's laminate birch neck is a multilayered wood creation, bonding layers of wood under extremely high pressure. The material is then carved and finished in a conventional manner. The end result is a very strong neck that provides definition and articulate sustain from note to note.
The modified low oval neck shape, 25.4 in. scale, 1-11/16 in. nut width, and 16 in. radius provide comfort and dexterity when performing intricate movements and progressions along the black Richlite fingerboard.
This X Series Martin acoustic guitar comes compete with the Fishman Sonitone. The Fishman Sonitone features a soundhole-mounted preamp with rotary controls for Volume and Tone. The controls are mounted conveniently under the soundhole. All you have to do is plug in and play. You’ll have a great acoustic guitar sound, right out of the box.
Other features include a hand-rubbed satin finish, a rosewood HPL headplate and chrome tuners. This guitar has the look and sound of a highly collectible Martin guitar, but goes for a price that anyone can afford. Embrace the dream of owning your very own Martin guitar, at a price that is too good to pass up.
Case sold separately.

My guitar is from 2005ish and is made in USA. I see this says made in Mexico so I am not sure if they are identical guitars. I love this guitar. Alixer 12/53 nanoweb strings and it sounds incredible.

The value for this guitar is amazing. The HPL back & sides coupled with the laminate-wood neck make this an incredibly strong instrument that will out last all others. The spruce top brings out the Martin "ring" making this guitar sound as good as many of their solid wood instruments. It you want a quality guitar that can withstand travel and the elements, this is it.
The Perfect Acoustic

I've played Taylors for years but I had the urge to buy a Martin. I bought this because it's not that expensive but I was immediately blown away. First off, it has the best neck I have ever played. I play more classic rock with a lot of thumb over the neck and it's perfect. The neck is better than all my acoustics and electrics which includes a Private Stock PRS. Second, is the body. It's so loud but yet comfortable because of the 000 shape. Third and most important is the tone. It is so full, deep and rich. I put 13-56's on it and tuned it into D and it just sings. The last thing I want to point out is the back, sides, and neck. I can't tell that it is not real wood because it sounds and feels just like wood. The richlite fingerboard is phenomenal and I think I prefer it to ebony. Since buying this guitar, I have sold all my Taylors and I am now a proud Martin owner of 5 beautiful Martin Acoustics. I will never go back and I still choose to play this over my high end Martins. Buy this and you will not be disappointed.
I like it, but there may be better for the price.

I really like the guitar. My beef is with the electronics inside. They aren't secured tight, and when you pick up the guitar, they move and bump against the body. The guitar itself has excellent projection and really good tone. Fun to play. The rosewood HPL is a photograph and doesn't look or feel like the real thing--unlike the Taylor 100 series for instance which is a beautiful veneer.

I found the action too high on this otherwise great "budget" Martin. I changed the strings to Martin flexible core that helped the playability. Any suggestions as to what to do to lower the action? I am inexperienced at modifying guitars.
An experienced luthier can make the necessary adjustments to lower the strings for you.submitted9 years ago
