Martin Guitar Nazareth Factory Tour Part 2

Description
Part of their X Series, the Martin Special GPC-X1E all-koa HPL acoustic-electric guitar provides discerning players with resonant tone, comfort and onboard electronics at an accessible price. This Grand Performance's spruce-braced Hawaiian koa high-pressure laminate top, mortise-and-tenon neck joint and scalloped X-bracing deliver the rich sound Martin is renowned for. The performance-focused neck offers speed, comfort and dexterity along its Richlite fingerboard.
Hawaiian Koa HPL Top Produces Powerful Tone
The spruce-braced Hawaiian koa HPL top and scalloped X-bracing provide the articulate tone and robust volume Martin guitars are known for. Notes ring true and sustain fully, with a balanced frequency response across the tonal spectrum. The koa HPL contributes clarity and projection, allowing this guitar to fill a room with inspiring tone.
Mortise-and-Tenon Neck Joint Enhances Resonance
The mortise-and-tenon neck joint offers a solid construction platform that maximizes resonance and minimizes dead spots. Notes sing clearly from the first fret to the neck joint and beyond. The laminate birch neck provides stability and sustain. Together, these design elements allow this guitar to produce full, resonant tone.
Performance Artist Neck Profile Facilitates Smooth Playability
The Performance Artist neck profile provides a familiar, comfortable feel for intricate chords and melodic lines. Its 25.4" scale length and 1.69" nut width strike an ergonomic balance, while its 16" radius allows smooth playability across all six strings. The profile gives you the speed and dexterity required for any style.
Onboard Electronics Provide Plug-and-Play Convenience
The Martin E-1 pickup system features controls for volume and tone mounted under the soundhole for plug-and-play convenience. The onboard tuner allows you to stay in tune and quickly adjust for peak performance. Simply connect to an amplifier or PA system and adjust the controls to your liking for full, natural tone when amplified.

Great guitar at a great value!

I've really enjoyed this guitar since ive had it this week. I like that it isnt as bulky as alot of the other acoustics, I like its playability, and its tone is nice for a guitar at its price point. Its nice that I can sling this guitar around my gut and still be able to play it. I've played other acoustic guitars that haven't really agreed with my fluffy physique. Probably the biggest thing going for this guitar is that it's extremely nice to play. I rarely have to fight with the guitar over a defect in the guitar. No crazy high action, no dead or buzzing frets. The only time I have any playability issues is when I need to tighten my playing a bit. This guitar even sounds pretty nice. I have noticed like others that its not quite as resonant or its more quiet. For me that works out fine cause I can play hard on this and not upset my dad in another part of the house. With the added electronics you can easily dial it in to sound resonant and still have the acoustic sound. Im actually pretty amazed at the quality and playability of these HPL Martin guitars. Im used to buying cheap acoustics and then getting fed up with them as they fall apart. This guitar seems like it could hold up over the years and be just as great in ten years as it was out of the box. Again I was really impressed with the amplified tone with the on-board electronics. I used it through a Mustang modeler amp on the big name clean tone channel and it sounds amazing. I could dial out the tin-like harshness that ive heard with plugged in acoustics before. The Martin M1 electronics faithfully reproduce the tone of the guitar.
Awesome guitar if you dont mind wood laminate

Im really shocked at how well this guitar plays! The action is low, but not strings slapping frets low. Out of the box it plays way better than a base model guitar should play. In addition, it actually sounds pretty appealing too. I Haven't had to hear any sour notes on it yet. No dead frets. I think the only setback of this guitar is the finish. From a distance its fine, but looking at it nitty-gritty you can tell its wood laminate. Not a deal breaker though, because with these guitars you wont feel as bad about wearing them out as opposed to a Martin guitar thats thousands more. This is a good guitar to wear ragged and put away wet without feeling bad about destroying an investment. To top it all off, this guitar comes with a really nice case. Very solid. If you need a daily driver, this guitar will work and so much more!

I was in the GC Acoustic Section looking for a Taylor or Martin having read the reviews online for a good acoustic that was in my budget. Playing between the two, I felt the Martin was more resonant and had a beautiful tone depth. It just sounds right to the ears with even a simple strum.
Love this guitar!

The Martin X Series has great tone and volume! The playability is different from my other acoustics as the neck has a great feel and fretting a chord is so comfortable! Also enjoy the great Koa finish!

I was in the acoustic room at GC and looked at several guitars in this price range, all of which sounded good to me. I am a novice player but know a bit about quality and the resonance that I like to hear. Long story short, the sales rep. / musician smiled when I came out with this Martin adding, "I knew you would choose that one". Very nice deep tone and resonance for KOA HPL and less worry about temperature extremes. Martin craftsmanship throughout and set up. I would definitely recommend this X-Series guitar to anyone looking for a good solid instrument.

Is the guitar made out of real wood? (Koa) Or just a pattern
The "wood" is HPL: High pressure laminate (HPL) is a composite material made of multiple layers of kraft paper, resin, and decorative paper that are bonded together under high heat and pressure. HPL is a durable, versatile material that's often used in construction and interior design for furniture, countertops, and wall cladding.submitteda year ago
