Martin

Description

Part of the X Series, this Martin Special LX1 Little Martin ziricote HPL acoustic guitar is crafted to deliver a full-bodied, lush sound, making it ideal for musicians at any level. Constructed from Martin's renowned high-pressure laminate, this guitar shares the tonal characteristics of wood while offering enhanced durability and sustainable material sourcing. Its compact size and rich sound make it perfect for beginners and professionals alike.

Exceptional High-Pressure Laminate Tonewood and Construction

This Little Martin model features a high-pressure laminate (HPL) top, back and sides with a striking figured ziricote pattern. This durable material, made from paper and resin, provides the resonance and tone of traditional wood while offering superior resistance to climate changes. Spruce bracing enhances the guitar's volume and tonal richness, ensuring a robust sound despite its compact size. The use of FSC-certified materials underscores Martin's commitment to ethical and sustainable production practices.

Comfortable Neck and Richlite Fingerboard

The LX1 Little Martin features a short-scale neck made from multiple layers of birch, pressed and bonded under high pressure for exceptional strength and stability. The neck joins the body with a solid mortise-and-tenon joint, ensuring excellent resonance. The FSC-certified Richlite fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface, offering clear definition and sustain. The guitar's shorter scale length makes it particularly comfortable and easy to play, especially for beginners or those with smaller hands.

Versatile Design for Travel and Casual Play

As the smallest guitar Martin produces, the LX1 Little Martin is a dedicated mini dreadnought, perfect for campfire singalongs, busking, modest gatherings, and travel. Despite its size, it delivers a powerful, rich sound characteristic of larger Martin guitars. This model is also an excellent choice for a "couch guitar," providing a relaxed playing experience for casual sessions. Its durable HPL construction makes it highly resistant to environmental changes, ensuring reliable performance whether you're at home or on the road.

High-Quality Features and Portable Convenience

The X Series Martin LX1 Little Martin ziricote HPL comes with a distinctive figured ziricote pattern and a durable gig bag, making it a perfect travel companion. Its smaller body and shorter scale length offer great portability without sacrificing sound quality. The HPL construction doesn't "breathe" with environmental changes like an all-wood body, providing greater stability and reliability in various climates. Whether dry, humid, or anywhere in between, this guitar is built to withstand the elements.

The Martin Special LX1 Little Martin ziricote HPL acoustic guitar offers the impeccable tone of a treasured heirloom guitar with the affordability, durability, and sustainability of high-pressure laminate. It delivers exceptional value and performance, making it a top choice for both aspiring guitarists and seasoned professionals.

I was originally looking to get a Taylor mini for a second guitar, just a smaller one that is easier to tote around and play casually. When I went in to my local Guitar Center acoustic room I saw this one and fell in love. It sounds amazing! It plays nicely, has a nice full sound for being small, and it looks beautiful. So fun to play.

I like this guitar. However, about 5 months after I bought it new, the soundboard has begun to separate from the body. Thankfully, this issue is covered under Martin's warranty; but the guy at my Martin-certified service center says this issue isn't uncommon with this series.

I wanted a "couch" guitar to play by the pool, in the apartment etc and not bother the neighbors. This guitar far exceeded my expectations. It sounds like a big guitar. Clear and warm, just not as loud. Very impressed and the HPL Ziricote finish is amazing!
