Martin

Description

The Martin 000-17 Standard Auditorium acoustic guitar is a captivating blend of classic design and modern innovation. This all-mahogany guitar delivers a warm, woody tone with exceptional clarity and a focused midrange, making it ideal for players seeking a vintage-inspired sound with a modern edge. With its comfortable 000 body size and a host of player-centric features, the 000-17 is ready to inspire your musical journey.

Solid Mahogany Construction for a Rich, Resonant Tone

Crafted entirely from solid mahogany, the 000-17 offers a warm and resonant tone that's perfect for a wide range of musical styles. The mahogany top, back, and sides work in harmony to produce a balanced sound with a focused midrange and clear top end. The satin finish enhances the guitar's natural beauty while allowing the wood to resonate freely, resulting in a rich and expressive voice.

Golden Era Bracing and Modified Low Oval Neck for Enhanced Playability

The 000-17 features Sitka spruce Golden Era (GE) top bracing, a key upgrade that delivers a more vintage, breathy tone with enhanced sustain. This bracing pattern, inspired by Martin's historic designs, allows the guitar's tone to blossom with exceptional clarity and resonance. The GE modified low oval neck profile provides a comfortable and familiar feel, while the thinner fingerboard with a comfort bevel edge enhances playability without sacrificing the guitar's traditional aesthetic.

Select Hardwood Neck and Ebony Fingerboard for a Smooth and Responsive Feel

This Martin acoustic guitar boasts a satin-finished select hardwood neck with a GE modified low oval profile, optimized for vintage appeal and effortless playability. The 24.9" scale length contributes to a more relaxed string feel and warmer, mellower tones. The ebony fingerboard, adorned with abalone inlays, adds a touch of elegance and provides a smooth and responsive playing surface. The vintage-inspired sleeker heel further enhances the guitar's classic aesthetic.

Refined Details for an Exceptional Playing Experience

The 000-17 incorporates several refined details that elevate its overall performance and playability. The GE modern belly ebony bridge features smoother edges for enhanced comfort during long playing sessions. Bone bridge pins contribute to the guitar's sustain and tonal clarity, while nickel open-gear tuners offer a classic look and reliable performance. With its balanced tone, comfortable playability, and vintage-inspired aesthetics, the 000-17 is a true testament to Martin's legacy of craftsmanship.

As a huge fan of the 000-15M series of guitars, I'm so happy that Martin has taken this style guitar to the next level. My chief complaint was with the nut width and the only option to get this guitar with an 1 3/4" nut with was to go with the SM. Problem solved with the new 000-17. All of the other refinements are a welcome addition, as well. I have been testing various strings on this guitar and so far I'm most pleased with the Retro Monel Strings, 12. If you're as big a fan of a hog Martin, as I am, then this will probably be the last one you'll ever buy. I did get mine site unseen since it was on back order. I was very pleased when it arrived To see mine was all straight grain, mahogany front and back. Played really nice out of the case and the sound is exactly what I expected. Good job Martin.
