So iam going to start of by why l bought these Makie thumps this year. My main system is the RCF evox those that know this is a pricey system so l wanted to have a 2nd system that l can take to Gigs Ike bars and smaller scale events and something that didn't break the bank. Tried a few non pricey brands that guitar center has and l didn't like them .So l gave these thumps a chance. Out of the box they don't give you its full potential of sound. And not having a eq in the rear does not help. But l did notice a difference with bringing up the highs , mid and bass on my Dj controller. I still felt it wasn't enough so l connected them to my Yamaha mix board and wow now the sounded crisp and with a nice bass power . They need a good eq board to have them sound its full 100!!!! The only thing l can say l don't like is the hissing sound you hear from them when no music is playing its loud but not a big deal especially when the music is being played. My opinion is that they are small and light for 12s great for mid size events where you use them at 60%-80% gain power to get a clean non clip sound and also connect a good board to them and you will be all set .

I bought the Mackie thump 212's to use for my dj gigs and the speakers are very clearly and give just the right amount of "thump" for the lower end of things #sweepstakes!

It's still new, so I can't attest to longevity, but Mackie is solid product so i'm not too concerned. I use it as a stage monitor. It's got plenty of power and a broad and full sound. I crank it louder than my previous monitor and still didn't even have to use the feedback eliminator, so I'm not sure at what point that comes in handy, but it's good to have. Only thing i would say is, you need to have control of monitor eq on your board, as the flat tone is bass heavy. Once you brighten it up it sounds great. Light weight too.

As a mobile DJ, this speaker is not heavy, but it is packs a big punch. I have had made a good decision purchasing this, as it has helped me a lot with my gigs

I own a pair and I'm very satisfied. I'm going to buy a couple of subwoofers, next weekend.
