This amp is absolutely the best amp I've ever had. It's extremely versatile. It produces beautiful warm tones! If you have the money for it, buy it!

I bought this amp in store, basically on a whim. I had my heart set on getting a Twin Reverb Reissue, but I looked at the Fillmore 50 and decided to try it out. I'm glad I did. I've seen mixed reviews online about the amp and I wasn't sure about it, and I'd kept going back and forth on the Fillmore 50 and other amps. When I plugged into this amp in Guitar Center, I knew I wanted to take it home. It was the only one that they had, and I immediately jumped on it. I have been playing it non-stop and it sounds good with every guitar that I have. I wanted to use my pedal board with it, ,but honestly...I haven't had a desire to use a drive pedal with this amp at all so far. The drive on this amp is so smooth and creamy that you really don't need any additional dirt pedals with it. The reverb on this amp is absolutely divine and it gives the clean tone on this amp that oomph. Almost as if Marshall and Fender had a baby (leaning more towards the Fendery side of the house) is how I would describe this amp. It just sounds and feels incredible, and I'd recommend it to anyone considering giving it a shot.

I have a major problem with this amp - it seems to be a Time Machine. Whenever I sit down in front of it, I start with the nice warm clean tones, play a while, then dial in some nice vintage style grit and play some more, then up the gain, and play some more, and then add pedals to it and play some more. Then I realize three hours has passed and I didn't notice the time slipping away. I literally have the hardest time stopping playing once I start because the amp is versatile. If I want to just plug straight in and use volume and tone knob on the guitar with the channel footswitch, I can cover a lot of ground. Want to punch it up - it's as easy as putting a tube screamer or boost in front of the gain to give it that extra oomph. Then I add some modulation like a delay or shimmer into the effects loop and it really comes alive. I honestly think I've found my perfect amp. It's definitely not a metal amp, but the cleans are so round and clean and pleasing, and the crunch is so vintage and nice, and the edge of breakup is sublime. I find it has enough options to find the tones I want, without having to fiddle around with the eq. Plug and play for what I want to do. The open back cabinet seems big enough that it doesn't sound boxy, in fact it sounds quite expansive, but it's also not too big or too heavy like many Mesa amps. What really impressed me is that master volume is totally usable. You can play this at reasonable volumes in small spaces and not blow out the windows, but you can also blow out the windows if that's what you need. Every guitar I plug into it seems to sound better for it. The two channel setup is so convenient as well - use it for two different guitars with similar settings, or have a gain/lead and a clean channel, or a high gain with a crunch channel, or whatever you need. It's a great balance somewhere in-between a Marshall and Fender tweed tone, and it's captivating for me. It was pricey, but honestly, I literally can't stop playing it and it seems to be what I've been looking for all these years.

The Fillmore 50, is a Swiss Army Knife, amplifier concept. Leave your pedals at home, all you need is the one button footswitch for channel switching. Playing this amp is like following the rabbit down the mysterious hole of endless tone. One amazing amp.

I've been playing g a single channel amp for a while and I was looking for something with more flexibility such as an effects loop and onboard overdrive. This amp has everything I need and I'm impressed with the sound quality, build quality that Mesa delivers, and the fit and finish are first rate. This amp is killer, sounds great, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for pristine Fender style cleans with a bit more character and great classic overdrive. This isn't a metal amp. This takes Boogie back to their roots when they were modding Fender amps for major players. If you've been hesitating on pulling the trigger on this amp, just do it. You won't regret it!

There's nothing this amp can't do. If you have a tone you are hearing in your head just dial it in. I like the channel clone it makes working with two guitars simple.
