The MEINL Slaptop Cajons are a conceptual step up to a new level. These models are designed to bring the striking surface up nearer to the player, for a more upright playing style. The sound projects forward into the audience. High and low tones as well as a snare effect are built in to the sound board.

    I was disappointed with the sound quality of this version of Meinl's slaptop Cajon. I own one of the original Makah Burl slaptop cajons and one of the original Meinl Turbo slaptop cajons. Compared to the Makah Burl version, this one lacks either "deep bass" or "cutting slap tones." Also, the description states that this cajon comes with dual internal fixed snare wires (like the Turbo), but it actually only has snare on one side. (Same as the Makah Burl). I plan on returning it.
