MEINL

Description

This cymbal, designed by Meinl in cooperation with Thomas Lang, offers drummers a cutting, biting accent to their sound. With a fast, sharp and sinister edge, these Meinl Filter chinas explode and then move out of the way for whatever lick might come next. They are quieter than most china cymbals, and have a short sustain due to the waved edge.

Meinl's Generation X Series offers a full range of special effect sounds previously not available. Years of input have led to the FX9 alloy and the unique shapes and configurations. Fast, explosive attack with quick decay make Gen X cymbals fit where other cymbals won't. Add a crazy new tone color to your setup today.

I bought this cymbal (12") to use as a stack with an old 10" A Custom splash cymbal I had lying around. The combination if the two are great. A perfect trashy/washy sound that really cuts through and decays almost immediately. They cymbal on its own is not for my taste, however.

I got the 14" china, and I love it. I play deathcore, metalcore, metal, etc. and this china is amazing, and the great thing about it, its affordable. I'd definitely recommend it.

  • good china, cracks fast but easy to fix.

about 1 year ago when i first got this china i loved everything about it, it sounded absolutely wonderful, but within 3-4 months i found atleast 4 cracks, 2 of the cracks were about 1 inch, the ohthers were about half an inch. BUT, i then cut it down shorter and it sounded great ever since.

I got an 8" and there are many things to say: 1) This china sounds very different to a normal one. 2) Its not so loud (what its not bad, depends on what are you looking for) 3) Many people say this breaks easily.. I suppose its so because many players try to get loud sounds from it, and play it tooo hard. 4) Its fast, because its wave edge 5) It has a "smooth trash sound", that I like... 6) Looks nice... for me I recommend it, not only the 8" one... I also played the 14 inch. and sounds good too.. many famous drummers play it..
