Open Box Jackson JS Series Concert Bass Minion JS1X Short-Scale Guitar Level 2 Metallic Red 197881300852

Description
Offering a shortened 28.6" scale length, the Concert Bass Minion JS1XM short-scale bass has a poplar body, bolt-on maple neck with graphite-reinforcement rods and tilt-back headstock, and a 12" radius maple fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets and black sharkfin inlays.
Plenty of balanced, deep tone radiates from a Jackson P-style neck pickup, while a Jackson J-style bridge pickup works double time by eliminating hum and delivering a punchy tone note after note. Dial in your sound with a pair of volume knobs and a single tone knob, and enjoy greater note sustain from the hardtail bridge with black base plate.
Boasting diverse low-end tone, classic Jackson style and an unbelievably affordable price tag, this four-string Minion JS1XM short-scale bass comes in a snow white finish with black hardware and black pointed headstock.

I'm in my 50s and have been playing for decades not knowing what I was doing until of late. I walked into the GC ready to drop a lot more than I did on some undiscovered beauty and this lovely bass was the second bass I tried. Instantly blown away. First, the weight and the size. Light and small like a regular 6 string. Great for kids and other small handed people such as my self. Compared to my last short-scale, it is so much easier to play. The sound is beast. It buy far has to be one of the best short-scale for that price.
I would definitely buy this again!

Before I bought this bass, I read the reviews posted by others. More than one commented on the great sound of this bass, so I decided to give it a try. They were right, it has got a great sound, much better than the Squire P-Bass Mini. I put on a set of GHS Short Scale Light Guage Flats, and it plays and sounds fantastic. I'm getting old and have issues with the weight of some of my full scale basses, so I'll probably be playing this a lot now. My only complaint is that the factory did a terrible job of dressing the edges of the frets. If you took the neck off you could use it as a steak knife. If I didn't like the bass so much, I'd send it back. As it is, I'll spend a couple of hours with a little file and correct this issue. If it wasn't for this, I'd give it five stars.

Gigworthy! Better than Squier Mini Precision Bass

TLDR: This bass is awesome and ready to gig. Silverburst finish is stunning. My daughter wanted to play bass so she chose a Squier Mini P-Bass from GC as it was comfortable for her. It was good, but it always seemed she had to fight it to avoid fret buzzing. We visited GC one day and she picked the Minion up. 10,000x better sounding and playing. It felt so easy for her. She now performs concerts with the Jackson and it sounds/looks killer. We did buy it used, so someone could have set it up really nice when they owned it (better than I setup the Squier). Interesting - the Jackson has exactly the same body shape, scale length and P pickup as the Squier. The Jackson adds the J pickup and has an Amaranth fretboard instead of maple. Jackson is owned by Fender. So this is an upgraded Squier Mini Precision Bass in specs and playability! Highly recommended! Only issue we've had is the cable insert jack was scratchy once - tightening it down fixed the problem - more of a maintenence thing than a QC problem.
So happy that Alex Rader reached out, awesome sales rep.
