Ibanez
Description
The S Series S520 electric guitar is cloaked in a dramatic burst finish, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets. Lurking beneath its graceful 3-D shape is mahogany specifically chosen for S Series instruments.

Light enough to amaze in terms of comfort, the S Series S520 is heavy enough to provide the tone and sustain that players expect from the S Series. Its thin, fast Wizard III neck is yet another achievement in playability, providing the kind of comfort that translates to responsiveness and speed. Quantum pickups, along with 5-way switch, provide an impressive palette of tone textures.

The S Series S520 comes with the Edge Zero II tremolo, so the most extreme sonic acrobatics can be fearlessly performed with confidence that the guitar will effortlessly return to perfect tuning.

The overall construction of this guitar is quite nice. There were some finishing defects in the porthole where the guitar chord plugs in. Also, OF GREAT IMPORTANCE, the website as of September 19th, 2018, is incorrect in its description of this guitar, and, they will be fixing this shortly. The specifications say this guitar comes with the Edge Zero II tremolo system. THAT IS INCORRECT!! You must purchase a Premium S series in order to get that tremolo system. The Standard series comes with the Edge Zero tremolo system.

Great guitar! I like the feel of the neck and thin body. The guitar is amazingly light. So I give the feel of the guitar a 5 stars. As for the sound of the stock Ibanez pick-ups, It's just "OK," IMO. I end up replacing the stock pick-ups to the Seymour Duncan Dave Mustaine "THRASH FACTOR" pick-up set. It made a HUGE difference in sound quality. The new Seymour Duncan pick-up's installed... You don't need to purchase the more expensive S models. Just change the pick-up's and you have an awesome guitar!

High Quality guitar. No flaws on painting or any cosmetic damage. Very conformable neck and body. The new 18" brown burst finish is beautiful. I recommend Ibanez to anybody that wants a high quality instrument, long lasting and in an affordable price. Thanks!

I bought one of these because I bought a hardtail with quilted maple that sounds and feels really good. This trem model sounds significantly thinner. I'm not sure what it is, maybe the hardware. I love the trem, but do not like the overall sound. The same pups are in the hardtail and sound great, very rock metal versatile, but not on this model. Clean tones seem nice but I have plans to replace the pups with something that will add thickness to distorted channels. The quitar itself is very comfortable and fun to play but I am dissapointed in the sound. I have a few Ibanez that range in price and quality, JS, Iton label S, the S QM hardtail dragon eye burst from GC, but this is by far my least favorite. There are better guitars for $200 less unfortunately, and I love Ibanez.
