Ibanez

Description

The Ibanez S670QM combines aggressive and wide-ranging tone with undeniably sweet looks, for a shred-ready ax you'll be proud to take on stage. Its resonant voice emanates from a meranti body with a gorgeous quilted maple top that enhances snap and definition. Ibanez's marvel of form and function, the S Series, continues to evolve for today's progressive player. S670QM is cloaked in a quilted maple top with a beautiful transparent sapphire blue finish.

Wizard III Neck: Thin yet Responsive

Lurking beneath the S670QM's graceful 3-D shape is mahogany specifically chosen for S Series instruments by Ibanez. Light enough to amaze in terms of comfort, the mahogany is heavy enough to provide the tone and sustain that players expect from the S Series. As the originators of the thin, fast neck, Ibanez's Wizard III neck is yet another achievement in playability, providing the kind of comfort that translates to responsiveness and speed.

Impressive Tonal Palette

The S670QM features Ibanez's iconic humbucker, single-coil, humbucker pickup configuration for an impressive array of tone textures. The neck pickup provides warmth and roundness, the middle single-coil delivers clarity and definition, and the bridge humbucker produces tight lows and crunchy highs—allowing tones from blues to metal.

Edge Zero II Bridge: Stability and Control

The Ibanez Edge Zero II bridge features a stud lock function, offering tight tone and accurate tuning stability that allows you to perform the most radical of tremolo effects with flawless tuning precision.

Additional Appointments

Other premium appointments include black hardware, sharktooth inlays and jumbo frets. A versatile and articulate solidbody electric, the Ibanez S670QM is a fusion of form and function for today's progressive guitarist. Case sold separately.

AWESOME!!!

First of all i did get this guitar used in mint condition with DiMarzio evo 2 pickups in the neck and bridge and another DiMarzio single coil.As far as the stock pups i dont know how good or "Bad" they might be, but Ibanez seems to always have okay pups compared to most stock guitars...THIS GUITAR SCREAMS, you hear offten in reviews about the bridge and blah blah blah it doesnt dive bomb or stay in tune...but NO this tremolo is great and of course there might be better trems out there but it works just fine if you feel the need to go all Steve Vai on your tremolo. Also you hear how a wizard 3 neck isnt as good as this and that, well i will say from a fast player that has played Jacksons, Deans, LTDs ESPs and various other fast neck guitars that personally and also i dont have large hands about normal sized and it really just gets work done. The fact that how thin is is and its mahogany is just mind blowing about how easy it is to play standing up REALLY, as soon as i got it i just wore it around the house playing for days and it just felt like a part of myself its that comfortable. This guitar i would honestly say its about as close to getting a premium Ibanez guitar as you can get as far as a S series or RG guitar goes for around this price point and i have played many high and low end products. now im not just gonna say everything is PERFECT even though it mostly is...the one thing that could be slightly better and that is very very minor about the guitar i have gotten is that the fret edges could be done a bit better but nothing like a cheap squire or some bottom of the barrel guitar as some of you might know, all you need is a little know how (or youtube haha..) and BAM! your set. All in all i would say that anyone that loves to play fast, slow, or even learn guitar as a person starting out new, it will not get much better than this for the money you pay and with 150$-200$ more to grab the pups you want to install in this bad boy to make it sing and scream or cry and whine like the soul inside you that makes your musical identity your own, this guitar will love you as much as you show it you love it. just dont forget to name her because shes a sexy singing beauty you will have in your arms for as long as you have arms. Happy Rocking Guitar Center People :)

Nothing worse than a guitar out of tune all the time

My first Ibanez. Nice feel to it. It's light which I really like. I bought it to have a Strat sounding guitar without having to use a Fender Strat. But this guitar can not hold tune!!!! I've had it worked on twice and the problem it still there and I don't even use the trem bar at all. I don't even take it out of the bag. I now leave it in the closet (I would not even sell it to a stranger) and wait for my new PRS to arrive.

After a proper setup ,This Guitar plays beautifully, and stays in tune .however ,one thing to keep in mind before buying is the pickups -they sound muddy and lacks clarity ,so un upgrade is highly recommended. Other than that ,considering its price point its an amazing and I love it

  • Can be a great guitar with a few upgrades

I purchased this guitar on another website to save a few bucks. The guitar itself is beautiful and has a great neck. I also think the pickups are just fine once you take some time to adjust them the way you want. Things were going well until I started using the Floyd. It just would not stay in tune at all. Here is how I fixed that. I installed a Floyd string tree above the nut. Why they don't do that at the factory is beyond me. This lets you tune the guitar and tighten down the locking blocks without it going sharp. Then I purchased the stainless steel string locking blocks upgrade and swapped out the cheap ones on the nut and trem. The factory ones are the cheapest, softest metal I have ever seen and they just dent and let my strings slip. With the stainless steel blocks, everything is rock solid. Finally, I installed a dual tremolo stopper/stabilizer in the spring cavity. Once properly adjusted, the trem comes right back to tune after a dive bomb. You can also over ride the spring tension and pull up on the bar if you want to. While I had the springs out, I installed some foam strips inside them so they wouldn't rattle. I can play this guitar, sit it down on the stand, pick it up a week later and it's still in tune.

In terms of quality, great guitar. Having said that, not every guitar is a good fit. For someone who wants the extra frets and has the lead skills to use them, great guitar. The only other challenge is it's tough to get that Floyd Rose back in line after changing string sizes.

  • Great guitar for the price

Great guitar, I'd give it a 7 out of 10. Beautiful finish, lightweight, thin, needs to be setup at time of purchase. Other than that it's good.
