Description

The FoxGear Anubi Ambient Box is the perfect addition to your pedalboard or your Amplifier’s FX Loop as a master FX unit. The Anubi Box doesn’t convert all the signal into digital. It respects your tone by keeping the signal path 100% analog. Based on the trusty FV-1 Digital processor used in many boutique pedals, the Anubi boasts a super bright LCD display, visible in any light conditions and a super easy-to-use interface. Up to 128 presets and 16 different algorithms can be easily managed by Midi pedalboard or Midi Looper/Switcher. MIDI can also be used to assign an expression pedal to modify each parameter such as delay time, levels, speed or shimmer.

  • Best Reverb I've heard in a pedal

Best Reverb I ever heard, more again to the older tube amp Spring Reverbs I remember as a child such as the old Tube amps like the Gibson and Fender amps. This truly sounds like a analog Reverb rather than digital with it's harsh reflections.

I bought this after watching a YouTube video. The musician playing it made it sound phenomenal. I liked the shimmer settings. Well, when I got it, it didn't sound quite the same as the guy in the video. My complaint is that when you turn the effect up, things get noisy. I've tried different amps but it still gets noisy as the effect volume gets turned up. I was a bit disappointed with this. Not sure if the price justifies the effects. Granted, many parameters are tweakable, but noise is still noise. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely an effect to have in the arsenal, but I don't see much use for it. Just my opinion. Your milage may vary.

The Foxgear Anubi is a reverb/delay/other effects for more ambient sounds with MIDI to control presets. The sounds are really good and the algorithms cover a lot of ground from basic spring reverb to shimmering and more exotic stuff. The fact that you maintain an analog signal path and can mix in the dry signal with the wet signal to taste works for me and what I want to hear. Editing is generally pretty easy in that you pick a preset, grab an algorithm and tweak it, then save it. You have three knobs to handle three parameters per algorithm and saving to preset is holding a button. The thing that got me was the MIDI capability to call presets with a MIDI footswitch. This makes dialing up presets easy. The manual is not very comprehensive but it is not that hard - And the manual is online only from the Foxgear web page! The real place this lacks is that the delays do not have tap tempo capability - ouch. This would be cool if it would have had that feature.
