Beautiful amber Telecaster!

Cons: When I unboxed the Tele and did my initial inspection, the fit and finish was almost perfect. Only one area on the back where the finish sucked into the grain, leaving a dimpled, coarse area. The switches and knobs are absolutely terrible. They seem to work cleanly without noise, but they feel like they are falling apart. The action seemed a little on the high side, and the neck appeared to have a bend in it. Playing the guitar, it had a very jangly sound, even with those SD humbuckers. Also, I could tune it standard, and intonation was close, but don't press any frets! ICK! It would be so far out of tune! Barre chords sounded terrible. Pros: After playing the guitar for about 30 minutes, trying different amps and effects, I put it on the bench and checked the neck with a straight edge. It had at least 0.018 inches of gap on the fretboard from the 5th - 8th frets. I gave the truss rod a few tweaks and it was perfect. With the neck straight, the frets were perfectly leveled. The radius of the string heights at the bridge saddles was perfect, and the action was very nice. It shipped with 9 - 42 strings, so I put a new set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky's on it, tuned and set the intonation. Conclusion: The neck and frets were nicer than I expected for this price range with nicely finished fret ends and smooth edges. They would only need to be polished a little better to match a guitar of many times that price. The guitar is MUCH lighter than my other Tele, and it is very comfortable to play. The look and fit of the set neck is perfect, and access to the upper frets is fantastic. The sound is MUCH nicer with the new strings, and it plays and sounds great after a proper setup. I believe the nut is graphite, and the tuners are nice and smooth, so tuning was a pleasure.. no popping. I will definitely look into upgrading the electronics in the future, as well as taking the time to polish the frets during a future string change.

Good looking guitar, but disappointing playability.

The guitar is extremely light, comparing to the standard Tele, Strat, or Even Ibanez S-series I own, it's close to half of the weight. When you pick it up it feels extremely comfortable. But the weight of the guitar is also its greatest enemy: the corpus is so light that the neck's weight is pushing it down, otherwise know as a "neck dive". Because of that, while you're playing, you catch yourself constantly supporting the weight of the neck with the palm of your hand, which significantly lowers the playability of the guitar. The problem doesn't go away when you use a guitar strap, as a matter of fact it gets worse. Weight of the guitar is definitely its advantage, weight distribution however, its greatest flaw. The electronics are OK, but I honestly was expecting more. I was hoping to use the guitar for the heavier music but I don't find pickups meaty enough. The coil split is useful if you want to play something more classic, like rock and country, but for anything heavier I'd change pickups for something more appropriate. For me the guitar will remain on display, because it is very easy on the eyes, but I will not be returning to it to often, as I'm generally disappointed with the way the guitar feels.

    I'm absolutely taken by the butter smooth action of this beautifully crafted and appointed guitar. I've had mine for a little over a month now and find myself playing it instead of my American pro.

    First guitar I've ever ordered/purchased without playing beforehand. I couldn't be happier with it! I had to do a setup on it, and it now plays like a dream. Great tone, feel and looks! Love the binding, set neck, mahogany and maple! Great guitar!

    I bought one used and had to put a new three way switch in it which comes with buying used lol. However outside of that this guitar is amazing. I use it in church, outside of church playing blues, rock, classic rock. The SD pickups SCREAM when the right pedals are applied and it can do almost anything

    Great workmanship, beautiful materials construction and finish. Having a little trouble with maintaining tune, but being in FLorida with such fluctuating temperatures , maybe that's the issue. Otherwise I'm not mad at all at it.

    A standard tele is like an Oldsmobile. This is like a sports car. Its light, and packs a punch with the HH setup. Having a guitar that can do multiple tones with the push/pull is a must nowadays. It keeps you practicing longer. The fact that it doesn't weigh a lot helps as well. My only complaint is the lack of locking tuners. However, that is an easy fix. This guitar is sortof like a Les Paul except sportier, and I like the T shape form better anyways. The push pull isn't found on Les Paul's in this price range so in my view this guitar is a better alternative to any Les Paul on the market. The single coil tones are not really like a Tele's, but that is OK with me.

    All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be about 7-8 lbs

    When in coil split mode, what part of the neck and bridge pickups are enabled? Are they the screw side or the slug side on each respective pickup?

    For the neck pickup it;s the side near the neck, for the bridge it's the side near the bridge.
