Description

Since its introduction almost 20 years ago, The Les Paul Special-II electric guitar has met the needs of countless musicians with its combination of Les Paul features, great tone and affordability. This Les Paul Special-II Plus Top limited-edition electric guitar is made with a flamed maple top, mahogany body, bolt-on mahogany neck, smooth 22-fret fingerboard, and is every bit as handsome as its uptown cousins.

Providing the sizzle and snarl that you can only get from humbuckers is a 650R (neck) and 700T (bridge) pickup combo. You'll be amazed how these U.S.A.-designed pickups and their high-output magnets add more highs with increased definition and no muddiness. Slightly overwound, the hotter 700T bridge pickup is smooth but can give you a little extra scream or growl when you need it while never losing its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal-clear highs.

Choose from Transparent Blue, Heritage Sunburst or Transparent Black finishes.

Humbucking good !!!

Wow, this is a great guitar for the money. I spent some time deciding on which guitar to buy and after a lot of research I bought the Plus top Limited edition Les Paul Special II and I'm glad I did. I purchased the guitar over Thanksgiving and they were sold out at the store so I had it shipped to my home and the minute I took it out of the packing I knew I had made the right decision. The finish on the guitar is really good and even though it's made in China the attention to detail is all there. The flamed maple top really makes this guitar stand out, much better than the regular finish. Epiphone evidently took the time to ensure that everything was manufactured in accordance with their specs and it doesn't disappoint. I'm an intermediate player and own a Fender and Yamaha acoustic and this guitar is a wonderful addition since it has it's own unique sound. The low E string doesn't buzz at all which is a welcome relief from my Fender which always has.. The guitar does not weigh as much as I thought it would, probably under 10 lbs and it's just a real comfortable size guitar. This is my first guitar with humbucking pickups and I noticed the difference right away. There is no buzz/hum and when you flip the switch over to treble or rhythm it produces a real sweet tone. Crank up your amp and it's a treat! The neck is easy to play and the guitar just feels right with no excess weight. Don't let the price steer you away from this one as it's worth every penny. Buy it and enjoy!!

Great guitar, not the greatest service

Came with a nice gouge out of it. Very well packed with bubble wrap and lots of paper. Looked like a floor model. Once I got it cleaned up and restrung it played outstanding. A lot of guitar for the money that's for sure, I'm very impressed with it. Still not happy about the chunk out of it though, probably won't be doing business with Guitar Center again.

    Looks great and sounds great! Not as many controls or other bells and whistles as some other Les Paul models, but it works well as an entry-level guitar for practicing. Action was good out of the box. I've really enjoyed playing it so far and don't expect to need/want to upgrade for a while. #sweepstakes

    this epiphone les paul special is what you expect for a guitar of this price. the humbuckers are good, but aren't the greatest, the tuners are quite questionable, and the weight is on the heavier side but is to be expected as a les paul. the finish looks good, and the frets feel good. if you are a beginner, this would be a great choice. the pickup selector feels good, input jack port is good quality, and the tone and volume knobs are great quality. overall, good guitar, but has its problems.

    To adjust the saddle screws on an Epiphone Les Paul Special-II Plus Top without getting metal shavings into the pickup magnets, follow these steps: Use a Magnetic Screwdriver Carefully: A small magnetic screwdriver can help catch any tiny metal filings as you turn the screws. Tilt the Guitar: Angle the guitar so the bridge is facing downwards or sideways while adjusting. This prevents shavings from falling directly onto the pickups. Cover the Pickups: Place a piece of painter's tape, masking tape, or a microfiber cloth over the pickups to shield them from debris. Pre-clean Screws: Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean around the screws before adjusting to remove existing debris. Go Slow and Controlled: Turn the screws slowly and with light pressure to minimize the chance of metal shavings forming.

    The nut width of a guitar neck doesn't vary all that much. This will be good. Are you set on Epiphone? Go to a store and check out a Fender or Ibanez.

    All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 7.5 – 8.0 lbs
