Derived from the legendary Gibson Hummingbird, the Epiphone Hummingbird Studio is made from a solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Iconic Square-Shouldered Body for Classic Gibson Style

The Hummingbird Studio's square-shouldered dreadnought body and distinctive pickguard mirror the famous 1960 Gibson Hummingbird that shaped rock and roll. Premium tonewoods, including a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and mahogany neck resonate with woody depth and clarity. A 24.75" scale ebony fingerboard offers smooth playability, while parallelogram inlays and single-ply binding provide a vintage-inspired style.

Plug in and Perform With Fishman Electronics

Onboard Fishman Sonitone preamp and Sonicore undersaddle pickup make the Hummingbird Studio stage-ready. Simply plug into an amplifier or PA system to fill any venue with a vibrant amplified tone. An easy-to-access volume control and tone knob provide discrete adjustment of EQ and volume levels, allowing you to shape your sound to suit any musical situation.

Premium Components for Reliable Performance

Grover Rotomatic tuners keep the Hummingbird Studio in tune through dynamic performances and long practice sessions. A compensated rosewood bridge and Graph Tech NuBone nut and saddle enhance sustain, and ensure precise intonation up and down the ebony fingerboard. Light gauge Gibson strings come standard for a slinky feel and balanced tension.

Would buy again and again !

Have owned this guitar for over a year and am still awed by it . Buy it and you'll NEVER regret it ! Have been looking for another, for a friend, but they seem to sell out FAST ! Change the strings and have it intonated before taking home . This is a keeper !

Bought 2 for school music program - Meh

Bought 2 of these for my school music program. They both arrived well packed, but needed a proper setup to be playable. One instrument had the truss rod so tight that there was buzz on all 4 lower frets. Also, neither had the pick guard properly attached - I had to use double stick tape to get the pick guards on both. What a time suck. Between the two, there is a very noticeable difference in sound quality, and with that said, they both lack a full bodied sound that you would expect from a dreadnaught in this price range. The Yamaha 300 series sound better for $150, and are more consistent. These instruments shine when plugged in. The electronics are very good for the price range. It is just a piazo under the bridge pickup, but with a proper eq on the board they sound nice. The other good quality is the feel of the neck... once they are setup properly. Great for students to learn on. All in all, for a guitar in this price range, consider looking at Ibanez ArtWood Open Pore guitars, or Yamaha - they are cheaper, sound better acoustic, and have better consistence between instruments.

    I picked up one of these on a SDOTD thinks, the other three times I bought a SDOTD I was really impressed with the guitar and all of them and worth more than I paid, well not the G&L Placentia yet but the Wildkat and Tribute ASAT are. So this thing shows up and I am primarily a strat guy and out of the box it had a great feel, was set up well and sounds great plugged or unplugged. I am an active gigging player and had a Trio gig the first week this arrived on a cold covered porch, I figured, ok tuning may be an issue but either this thing is gonna work well or its not. It worked great, sounded great even after playing pretty aggressively. I own about 20 guitars and I am picky with what I would gig with. I would gig with this. I need to get it a case and will be hitting open mics etc. with this thang... Battery compartment set up isn't ideal but it works. I do like where the vol and tone controls are. Tucked away but easy to get to.

    Wow, the Epiphone Hummingbird Studio is amazing right out of the box! It looks feels and sounds like a real Gibson. Solid mahogany back & sides, spruce top. How Epiphone did it, I don't know. BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK OF ANY ACOUSTIC/ELECTRIC!!! The only negative comment would be the 9v battery placement. The Fishman pre-amp & electronics are hidden inside the sound hole. The 9v battery is inside a nylon "pouch" kind of thing, with velcro all around. It simply sticks up inside under an area around the 18th or 19th frets.
