This is an incredible option for someone looking for a pre-amp and DI that offers great tone, and amazing clarity. Run "clean", but on, the box offers really nice compression and helps the bass maintain a nice clarity and presence in louder group settings. Then, decide to engage a bit of the drive engine, and you're getting the ability to run a fully dirty, or hybrid clean/dirty tone, adjustable with the wet/dry knob. This allows you to get a tasteful amount of fuzz where desired, and ability to go full ham if you want too. Of course, also providing a DI output, this makes it an ideal preamp for live and recording. Coming from the MXR Bass DI+, this is a clear winner in terms of sonic quality. The 10th anniversary look is also slick. Grab an open box if you can find one, I suspect a ton of people return these for the next comment: Note; you will likely need to run a dedicated power supply to this unit, separate from a daisy chain or similar, very sensitive to interference, but once I started using it's own power supply always, it's been crystal clear.
