Behringer
Description
The Behringer A500 600W Reference-Class Studio Power Amplifier embodies true audiophile-grade performance, delivering 2 x 300 watts into 4 ohms or 600 watts into 8 ohms bridged. The overhead keeps you on the safe side, and the Behringer A500's advanced convection-type cooling system guarantees stable, noise-free operation.

The servo-controlled design drives virtually all passive speakers. Precision level meter and clip indicators are provided for accurate performance monitoring. The studio amp's inputs include balanced XLR, 1/4" TRS, and RCA connectors for versatile connectivity. Plus, the speaker outputs give you a choice between professional 'touch-proof' binding posts and 1/4" TS connectors.

To assure years of trouble-free operation, the A500 uses ultra-reliable Toshiba or Fairchild high-power transistors, both known for their rock-solid reputation. In addition to all these features, an independent thermal overload protection system with LED indicators for each channel automatically protects both your amplifier and your speakers. Last but not least, the Behringer A500 employs a high-current toroidal transformer for solid reliability and the lowest noise interference possible.

You deserve the very best in studio power amplification. Get the Behringer A500 Power Amplifier and enjoy reference-class audio and ultra-reliable quality that's super-affordable.

I purchased this amp a few weeks ago and that's the only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5. Thus far it has been a GREAT AMP with no issues. I runs quiet doesn't feel hot to the touch after hours upon hours of use.

The first thing I noticed was the weight of the thing. The next was clearly a super wide bandwidth of sound. Run my studio through it and a korg kronos x88 and other boards. Amazed at the difference from a class d amp I was using. Pristine sound and do not hear any varying distortion based on the volume control at all. My buddy that works at various studios and has his own always says you have the quietest studio I have ever heard. Now even quieter! Have looked inside various behringer amps and they are well built! no cheap parts or construction. I did warranty work for kurzweil and ampeg and others so have a good idea on amplifier classes and designs.

This is an amazing sounding studio amp that can double as home hi-fi amp. This extremely quiet and powerful 2U rack-space Class A/B amp delivers near audiophile performance at budget prices. It?s built like a tank with low noise audio quality transformers and output devices. The A500?s fan-less design with large metal heat-sinks is intended for permanent use in home project recording studios to integrate with full-range or multi-amped passive monitors. It's +4dBu balanced inputs have nearly inaudible self noise and hum and it?s two large stepped attenuators or input controls allow for precise and repeatable settings in a multiple bi or tri amp setup. A tightly focused 3 dimensional non-phase shifting image that produces superb articulation with every nuance and which reveals every bit of detail intact with dynamic Impact and precision tonality is what you can expect from this amp. Use it with the very best speakers money can buy.

I did alot of research on this power amp before I bought it, but my old receiver was failing and I needed something new/simple to power my setup. With the all the input options this model offered, as well as the 230W per channel in stereo I was convinced. So far this amp has provided plenty of clean power to my speakers and has sounded wonderful. I'm currently running it in one of the poorer configurations for quality, (e.g. binding posts, stereo, rca output) but I'm definitely going to get some TRS cables, banana plugs and new speaker wire to bring the quality up. I'll update this later, but for now, this is a much better amp than rated.
