Exactly what I was looking for - a cab that handles a Geddy Lee Tech 21 Sans Amp pre-amp and Ampeg PF-800 amp. I play a Dingwall Combustion bass. The bottom is amazing down to low B. With volume at half it shakes the house.
Ampeg PN-115HLF 15-Inch 575-Watt Cab

I got this new 15-inch, 575-watt monster cab to go with my Gallien-Krueger RB800 head amp to use as a highly portable & loud rig for my performances. And it delivers! Most recently I also bought a used 15" Classic-series Ampeg cab So now I have an Ampeg "stack" of two 15-inch cabs with a very powerful head amp---and bundled together this is a wow rig. The PN-115HLF has a wonderfully deep and tight thumping sound at high volume with the horn tweeter at "3" with no rattling while the amp is at 1 o'clock. Wow! So you can push this cab very loud, clean, and tight without rattling or farting. It seems very durable and well made, except for the corners that have no metal protection. I have already used the one PN-115HLF cab by itself with the head at an outdoor gig. You have to purchase the casters separately, but I'm very happy with this equipment. BTW, I play Sterling Sub4, Ibanez BTB, Schecter Stiletto, and Hagstrom Super Swede basses that all sound wonderful through this cab. Bottom line: I know this is expensive/pricey, but this cab is worth its high price tag and I'm looking forward to using it for many years to come!

I'm not sure how any *experienced active musician could claim this cabs sound is 'muffled'. In a live setting, it really shines. That's user error at its best.. The finish is more of a truck bed liner (like Rhino lining or similar). You can chip it..you can tear tolex as well..you can damage any cab on the market. I would like to see corner protection, but I fabricated my own and installed them (look's like the ones that are on all the classic Ampeg cabs). Massive sounds, punch, clarity, growl and tone. Tested with several different basses/amps with amp settings to flat.. Nice to be able to carry this one with one arm as well. Great cab on its own, and fantastic with my PN-410HLF.
Bad value for the money

I cannot tell you strongly enough NOT to get this cabinet. I was astonished at the lack of quality for the price. No metal corners. No caster wheels (you have to order them separately!) not even a good vinyl coating on the cabinet. It's simply coated in a textured black paint. No protection at all. Even the speakers have no protection. Simply a plastic mesh grille cover. And the sound? Muffled. I returned it the same week I bought it.

I purchased these after much review online. I spend alot of time reviewing items before purchasing them. This 15" cabinet by Ampeg had the lowest hz's (35hz) available and wattage (575 watts) beyond any 15's I've seen! Doesn't touch Bergantino nor Mesa Boogie in tone either! People, I've owned them all believe me! If you want a professional 15" cabinet with loads of low end and nice punch and articulation, then look no further than the oldest bass amplification company, Ampeg. I purchased two of them to combine with my Mesa Boogie 4x12 cab... perfect! Showless.
